I had my first local hen do last weekend (5 weeks before the wedding) and my hen weekend away is next weekend (3 weeks before the wedding).

It was a bit more difficult for me though as i had to consider christmas and new years, people availability and also money factor.

My OH is also having two stags, one away in Amsterdam - 2 weeks before the wedding and one local - one week before the wedding. Friends said i was mad "letting him" have it so close to the wedding but it gets him out the house so i can get it all organised / packed for honeymoon ha.

If I do have one, I'm still unsure, it will be after the wedding.

I'm going to one later this year which is 2 months before the wedding. The stag do is potentially 5 months before the wedding!

Mine's on August 9th, we get married on September 6th so a month before. Had to fit it in a weekend that there were no others happening.

No idea what we're doing, BM and my Mum are organising it and I've asked them to keep it a secret so can't help with inspiration I'm afraid.

OH is having his stag weekend 5 weeks before the wedding.

If it goes ahead, a month before! Planning to go to Birmingham for a cocktail making session and a night out. That's if I have enough people...

I'm technically having two. I'm having a hen weekend in the beginning of June (we get married August 10th) and a sort of hen afternoon with all the BMs, my mum, FMIL and possible Grandmothers for afternoon tea as they wont want to come to the actual hen do. For the hen weekend, we're stopping in a big cottage and off out in Notts on the Friday night, then having a spa day on the saturday and drinking games and home cooked food. Then everyone can go whenever they like on the sunday.

I'm sort of having a few as well! My proper big one away is 31st Jan - 1 Feb, in Brighton, so 3 weeks before the wedding. In an ideal world I probably would've chosen to have it four weeks before, but I couldn't expect people to come before January pay day! Then I'm having a 'work' hen on Friday 7th Feb, and then a 'mums' hen with my mum, my MIL to be and three of my four bridesmaids (one lives in London) on Sat 8th February, so those are two weeks before the wedding. My birthday is on the 9th so it's nice to do something that weekend anyway!

I'm having one and a half Smiley smile

First one is a weekend away with my mates, 4 weeks before the wedding. (5 weeks today in fact!) It's a complete surprise, organised by BMs.

Second is a day at a spa with Mum and MIL the week before the wedding.

Currently my plan is to have a girly day at the races, probably 3-4 weeks before the wedding - but it depends on when there are races on! Followed by a night on the tiles ?

My mum is also going to hold a 'bridal shower' garden party at the house for ALL of the ladies in the family - including the little ones and older ones who wont be invited/wont make it on the hen. This will be a sort of tea party/bbq type affair with plenty of bubbles! This will be 2 weeks before the wedding.

I'm having a couple both quite a long time before our wedding. one of my bridesmaids lives in Australia and will be home briefly in February so we're having a bridesmaids only kinda hen do at the end of feb. The 5 of us are going to a ceramics painting workshop and having a shopping day. wr're calling it bridesmaids day rather than a hen do lol. My proper hen do is going to be in May my family wanted it to be quite a while before the wedding to spread the cost. For that we're going to the races and they'll be the mums, aunties, grandma and friends all together I think. if we decide to go out in the evening they may well choose to head back to the hotel!

I'm having 2 both of which I know nothing about apart from the dates!

First is the 1st weekend in May and the second is the 2nd Saturday in June. We get married on the 28th June this year.

    Enjoy your Hen's girls!

I dont understand 'bridal showers' always seems a little greedy as the purpose is to shower the bride with gifts (wont you get gift at the wedding?) - but I do like the idea of a picnic/BBQ that all the younger people can attend, seem like a nice way to involve everyone
