Hola!
Well at the weekend I had my fabulous hen do, and as I know you ladies love pictures I thought I would share. It may help any of you who want inspiration for yours too!
All I was told was "be dressed ready for a night out but it will be a long day so be comfy". I was told to be ready at mine at 11.30am on Saturday 13th. As my Wedding isn't until December, some may say it was planned rather early, but what with all the xmas work-dos coming up this seemed the best option.
I was stressed Friday night as I know my 2 BMs and Gay friend (who was an honorary woman for the day) had had mini-tiffs over what they wanted to do for my day. I just wanted a day everyone could enjoy and hated the thought of my friends stressing over it. I was very wrong to be stressed as I had a fabulous day and everyone was constantly smiling!
Here is me all dressed up at mine - everyone got there early and threw the lovely tiara, sash and L plates on me. Everyone else had sashes too. My friends bought over croissants, sausage rolls and other lovely nibbles for us all to enjoy, whilst my OH bought out sparkling wine (well trained!)
Here is the gang all about to leave for the train. My mum and aunties and my friends (plus cousin). Another friend joined us later that day. We trained up to London - here is where Dan (honorary woman) truely came into his own. He put us into groups and gave us a scavenger hunt. 5 points for "Something borrowed" ranging up to 50 points for a pair of men's boxers! We hassled men on their way to the footie for items of clothing - we got phone numbers, tips for marital happiness, and someone even got a £5 (30 points!).
We end up in a bar in Covent Garden - it's about 2ish by now and place it really empty... I was confused! Then a lady in a corset and fish nets turns up - we're doing burlesque dancing!!!! I love all things burlesque (In another life I would be Ditta Von Teese!) but I was suddenly concerned for my mum and aunts, but they LOVED it!! The woman was amazing - she was cheeky enough to make us "OH!" but not so bossy or crazy we felt uncomfy. We all giggled and thrusted away! At the end we made a video of all the moves we learnt - it was terrible!! But such fun. At the end of it we had to "grind" and scream out my OHs name, which my mum just couldn't bring herself to do!!!
Then, in the same bar, it turned into Cocktail making lessons. The man incharge was a bossy pants! He made 2 to show us, and I got to drink these ? then we all got to make 2 each. This was good as after burlesque some people needed a bit of a rest and a tipple.
On we moved! To a bar where we sat in a private area booked for us, drinking more cocktails. Dan took charge again as we played "I have never" with a twist and also played "Josie must guess your first time" - which involved everyone writing about their first time, shuffling up the bits of paper then reading out random ones & I had to guess whose was whose. They were so funny and to hear my aunts read them got me in fits of giggles! I did pretty well, guessed at least 50% correctly.
Finally we ended up in a private room of a Chinese restaurant where you could sing karaoke. We started singing even before the food got there! And we sang whilst eating too. Once we finished eating we danced and sang!
Here was my chance to get some Boxers for those 50 points. Went into the private room next door - an 18th bday party! The boys were only more than happy to give their pants, socks and ties!!! I have their addresses and am promising to send them back.
Once dancing and singing was winding up (about 11) I was presented with a willy cake. Then it was time to catch the last train home. My OH met us half way on the train as he had been out with some man friends - this was lovely as he walked me and my aunts to their taxi.
At first I always thought Hen parties were about getting rat-arsed and partying til dawn (And I DO enjoy those things) but my day/night out was perfect, I can remember it all through a tiddly, happy memory as we drank all day but as it was steady throughout the day noone was "out of it" and at no point did anyone have time to be bored, but nor were we ever stressed. I am so proud and honoured by my friends for organising me such an awesome day ?
