Must have dozed off for an hour. It's now completely white out there and still coming down heavily. So much for a thaw today. Now do I believe the BBC Weather site which still reckons tomorrow's predominant weather is Sunny? ?

I live in a small village just outside of Newbury (W. Berks) so you can imagine the state of the roads at the moment. My kids are off school (for the third time this week) and I haven't managed to get into uni at all this week, I'm not even sure if I'll be able to get to work tonight, it all hangs on whether the weather will improve. However as the snow is still falling I'm not holding out much hope!

We're in Cambs and our snow from Tuesday was pretty much all gone and it was dry come Wednesday. No further snow forecast for this area but woke up yesterday to a white out and the schools all being closed. Even our rubbish didnt get collected.

H was driving to East Midlands last night to catch a flight to Portugal early this morning (lucky sod!) and he got away fine. This morning it was drizzling - until we were halfway to school and it startied snowing really hard - all the kids were soaked by the time we got to school. Been like that for the last hour and is laying properly now over the slush - in fact as I type its getting heavier and heavier - massive flakes of snow coming down - never seen such large ones ! My car is in the garage today so I will have to go out later to get that, plus do school run on foot and get son from nursery in the car ( if its fixed otherwise its an hours plus walk there and back [:'(]. I also need to check on my parents who live 20 mins away as they were running short on supplies yesterday. They are elderly and I dont want my mother out in this as she is bound to slip and fall.

I am bored of snow now - in fact I was bored yesterday as soon as we finished making our snowman ?

3500 homes without electricity in my town after snow brought down power lines. Touch wood, I'm still ok where I am. God, being stuck at home without Hitched would be too much to bear. ?

Can we have a freak heatwave now, please? I hate using annual leave for things like this.

Bah, wire in Northampton, the weather last night promised me rain - BBC weather is still promising it for 12pm - but its still snowing here. I need to get to the bank to get my deposit for the new house I'm renting. I'm picking they keys up tomorrow morning. Damn you snow!

I am one of those 4x4 drivers, and i must admit it affects me less that most of the people round here, but even i was slipping a bit this morning, and we've now got worse weather since then.

Please send some good thoughts to my poor friend driving round in her Smart car today. She already got stuck coming off the motorway on to a steep slip road. She kept sliding back down. Luckily a lovely lorry driver stopped behind her to shield her, so that cars wouldn't crash in to her and she had time to get up. Took 3 attempts. shes now trying to get out of a car park!

I am starting to get fed up of the snow too. BBC forecast for last night/this morning was sleet, woke up to heavy snow :-(

Was the worst day for bad roads today as well, cars abandoning there cars everywhere because it was so slippy

I still got into work, as my husband drove me (then realised it was a bad idea as he could get home or to work), wishing they would send us home now....
