Here's £50 cash. Spend it on yourself.

Ostrich, 1 June, 2009 at 12:20 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 28

What would you buy if someone handed you fifty quid and told you to spend it on yourself? You're not allowed to pay bills or buy anything for anyone else. Just for you. You're not allowed to buy clothes or shoes either.

I'd either buy myself a new mobile phone (I aren't into anything special just something that i can text and phone on). I put my phone in the washer about 2 months ago and so my phone isn't brilliant at the moment, or a new docking station for my ipod

No clothes or shoes would mean I'd spend it on books, or a massage.

New handbag or purse? Put it towards getting my hair done or having a pedicure maybe.

MrSun gave me £1000 with the same kind of rules, except I could buy shoes and handbags. I bought a new mobile phone, GHDs and then I got stuck ?

Any beauty treatment I think. Have been hankering after a back massage and pedicure for a while now!

Failing that make up, a perfume, or a trip to the hairdresser.

I'd go for a pedicure (my poor feet are desparately in need of one) and a bottle of Coco Mademoislle which is a perfume I absolutely love but can't afford to buy very often.

Actually you've given me inspiration for my birthday pressie wish list...my birthday isn't until August but come the time i'll not be able to think of things I'd really like!

The whole reason for my thread. ? I wish I'd had the sense to make a list over the past few weeks/months, instead of desperately trying to give ideas to MrOs and the in laws now, the day before!

Errrrrm some Eve Lom cleanser or face cream.

A DVD box set of Mistresses or Cold Feet or something.

Or National Trust membership (not sure how much that is though)

My immediate thought is a theatre ticket, but then I'd find the money for that from somewhere anyway, so on reflection I'd probably try to buy something I wouldn't normally buy. At the moment it'd probably be some super dooper miracle hair conditioner - or a hair cut.

But then I'd probably think sod the hair and buy a theatre ticket and done with!

Hmmm, i could probably spend the £50 50 times over..... [greedy icon]

probably either the clinique 3 step system, or mac make up, or i'd blow it in accessorize on lots of holiday bits and pieces (sarong, sandals, beach bag).

OH is getting me a pandora bracelet for my 30th as i am so unimaginative that i can't think of anything else in that price bracket!

I'd buy books, a massage or book into a travel lodge locally to get an evening's peace, a full night's sleep and a lie in (teething baby + insomnia + grumpy poorly 3yo = grumpy tired me)

If the £50 was mine I would think about spending it on ....

Some software for use in my cardmaking/scrapbooking (SCAL, to be specific!)

or some CDs and books from Amazon

or a new brown handbag (my nice designer leather one wot Mr GMT got me a couple of Christmases ago has a busted zip)

or some of the lovely jewellery that's there for the buying at a local once-a-month craft fair.

or getting my hair hgih/low lighted

I'd go mad on all the lovely necklaces, hair clips, handbags and flip flops in accessorize at the minute. Was there yesterday and could have easily spent £50 if I had it!

    books (again the same thing)

a cut colour and style on my hair

one really lovely outfit in a size fourteen to give myself something to work towards

or an amazing pair of shoes

Books, Clinique stuff, makeup, manicure/facial/pedicure, computer games, jewellery, handbag, bike stuff, plants for the garden, hair cut, get my lovely armchair reupholstered, go out for dinner, speakers/mouse for the computer, magazine subscription, in Boots on lots of lotions and potions.... I too could spend £50 multiple times!

I wouldn't because I already have! National trust membership, craft stuff, garden statue, artwork.

    Have fun!
