Hertfordshire Help

Hi there

I am new to this site, and i am trying to find venues in hertfordshire for my wedding. I am not looking for a hotel / country house etc, as i do not want such a formal affair, what i am after is a village hall / rugby club / cricket club / restaurant, etc that can hold about 140 for a sit down meal + 100 for the evening.

I have been looking on the internet, but dont seem to be able to find anything. I have recently moved to Watford, therefore not knowing the area too well.

Was just wondering whethere anyone out there can help!!!!!!!!!

Once i have the venue sorted, i know that everything else will just come into place - well i hope so.........!!!

Hey

I am getting married at Brocket Hall - in the hall itself - BUT they have a lovely golf club there too that looks fantastic, take a look at their site!

There are loads of venues around that could cater - google civil wedding ceremonies in herts and see what you get. Oh and a friend of mine got married at Tithe Barn, which is in the grounds of a lovely hotel (can't remember the name sorry)

Whereabouts is the ceremony being held? Your evening numbers are quite large so many venues couldn't cope with well over 200 people.

An initial thought is the rugby club on the A414 towards St Albans. That could deal with the amount of guests you want.

Sandy Lodge Golf Club just outside Watford caters for weddings and so does Bushey Hall golf club.

The cricket club at Abbots Langley also hires out for wedding receptions too.

Also check out the Cart and Horses pub in Sarratt. They have a marquee in their garden area and last time I was there they were getting a bigger one.

The food was all barbequed and was really impressive. I have some images from the day if interested.

As Peter mentioned (thanks Peter!) I am a wedding planner and I live in Abbots Langley. There is loads of places around here which would be perfect for your venue. What is your budget as this could make a huge difference to the type of place you are looking for?
