hi, im new

babaloo, 16 June, 2010 at 21:03 Posted on Planning 0 21

Hi

Im becca, or as my fiancée calls me, princess babaloo of beccaboo land ( i know i know)

im 24 years old, and at current i still live with my mum, dad, brother and sister, although that will be changing as soon as drew and i can get a house.

i have been with my fella for 2 years, and on saturday he asked me to marry him. it was the best moment of my life so far.

Im right at the begining of my jorney to becomeing a bride, but im already stressed out, so i thought i would join the forum to see how peole cope with it all.

so Im guessing like all new brides to be, i have a hole lot of issues to over come.

firstly, although drew and i get on like a house on fire, our familys are very different as my family are all english and his are all greek, so big cultural differances.

also i want my brother and sister to be involved however they are both disabled so i have no idea what to do.

add to the fact that i have ocd, and I can see this is going to be a rocky road.

anyway, cograts to all you brides to be, and any pearls of wisdom will be much apriciated

    Well conngratulations chick!! Smiley smile

my 1st pearl of wisdom is to relax!! Enjoy every minute of this planning! Cos the time flies...seems no time since me and my OH got engaged in Jan and we're well over the half way now and it seems like no time since we started planning!

There's loads of ways that you can bring in the both cultures in your wedding! It means you can pick and choose the bits you like from each!

Your bro and sis. I'm sure will be able to take part in some way. My friend had her nephew as ring bearer at her wedding. He's 12 and has spina bifida and is in a wheelchair. It was lovely and he's in all the pics!

Well again....welcome to hitched and happy planning!!

Congratulations! The first thing I would say is 'Keep calm'. It will be stressful at times but all problems iron themselves out and your day will come together and you'll enjoy it. Keep focussed on the fact it's about you and your OH and if you enjoy it, that's all that matters.

    Happy planning.

    Hello and congratulations! ?

My OH and I got engaged in April so I'm still new to it all too!

First thing I did was get a wedding planner book (from Amazon but they sell them all over) which takes you through each thing you need to do and when, and has space for your ideas etc.

Also wedding magazines are great for getting tips and advice.

First things are budget, who pays what and venue (date).

Good luck with everything and the forum is here if you need and advice!
