HIB's who use Berisfords organza ribbon

Vanilla Pod Design (HIB), 2 June, 2009 at 15:12 Posted on Planning 0 3

Sorry if this post is a little random but I'm at the end of my tether because of some Berisfords ribbon I am using for an order.

I have never had this problem before but wanted to make you aware that there is a chance the ribbon may have a slight coating of oil/grease along the edges!!! Because of this I now have 45 day invitations and 70 evening invitations with 'grease stains' and 100m of unusable ribbon.

The order was due to be dispatched today but instead I'm off out to get more supplies so I can spend the whole evening remaking the order so it can go out in the first post tomorrow morning ?

Just wanted you all to know so you don't end up in my situation.

Susan.

Oh dear, that's not good. Have to say I use this ribbon all the time and have never had a problem like that. Could it be how it was stored at your supplier? You should ask your supplier for a replacement roll.

I use their satin ribbon a lot, but the organza I use is Club Green. Thats really not at all acceptable - are you going to claim with your supplier (who, if its not their fault should claim via Berisford) for the money you've wasted on the ribbon and the invitation material / your time? I would ...

are you going to get 105 invitations done in one evening??!

I've used it loads of times before and also never had any problems which make it all the more frustrating. I was begining to wonder if I needed to find a new make of ribbon but as you all use it without problems I think it's likely to be a one-off.

To be honest I haven't had time to contact the supplier to go ape at them as I've had my head down remaking all the invitations along with everything else that I had to do today. Definately going to complain about it as I wondered if it was some grease from a machine used during manufacture however after what 'Made by Lawrie' said it could be how the supplier stored it.

If I don't have any joy I might take you up on your offer.?

Thank you everyone, I was so angry yesterday but I'm much calmer now after getting everything remade and explaining the problem to the bride who was very understanding.

All I know is I'll be a little wary from now on!

    Susan x.
