Hidden Heels - yay or nay?

Red Kite, 17 June, 2014 at 13:09 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

I've been thinking about buying these converse shoes - but am not sure if they'll be a 'one hit wonder' and end up hidden in the back of my wardrobe next season.

I can't decide if having a sneaky extra few inches of height is a good thing, or if I would be mixing comfy trainers with stylish heels and ending up with the worst of both worlds? (I.e. uncomfortable lounging shoes).

Otters opinions? Anyone got a pair or similar? Do you wear them much?

Someone at work has them and they look good on her, but I would look silly!

I think it depends totally on you.

    SO unhelpful haha!!

They do things like that in New Look (and possibly Primark) so might be worth getting one of the cheaper ones to see how you like them before splashing out

Oh I like your thinking! Cheapies then wouldn't matter if I only wore them a few times. On the whole I think Rod might be right and they will look a bit odd on me. Will definitely have a snoop in new look/primark to see if there's some i can try on. I hate sending stuff back from internet shopping - always a real pain in the bum but I also cba to go to the shops. I am so lazy sometimes ?

I have a black pair of wedge trainers from Next and I love them! That said, I like wearing heels and get sore feet if I'm in flats for too long. I wear them with loads of stuff and don't feel like I'm slumming it in trainers, I couldn't pull them off in white though.

I'm not a big fan of hidden heel trainers - mainly because I tend to wear trainers for comfort and can't see how any raised heel would be comfortable and I think theyd look weird on me.. I like wedges, but only quite low ones. The get a cheap pair first thing seems like quite a good option!

They look too high IMHO. I love the idea of them, but with a sensible bit of height?
