Hitched hairdressers: The Posh

Pint&APie, 12 September, 2008 at 10:05 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 25

According to the radio this morning, hairdressers across the country are struggling to cope with demand for Victoria Beckham's new crop.

Is this true ? Are women really that celebrity-obsessed ? It isn't even that great a style.

I think someone on WP has had it done. I was wondering if the lookalike hitcher has yet (sorry can't remember your name just now!)

That surprises me too. Whilst I think it suits her, it isn't a haircut that would suit many women.

I heard this as well and find it mad. I don't like the style either and I've never been one for running out and changing my hair because a celeb has.

It's a complete rip off of halle berry's old 'do'. Yes, people are that celeb obsessed P&P, it's too too funny. My best mate is a hairdresser and he has been inundated with requests from (his words) 'orange, chubby "ladies who lunch"'. I think if you have a gorgeous little elfin face and a good jawline, it's an amazing style. I am a chinless wonder and would look like a right munter with it though, so I'm going to stick with my long locks until I get my uma pulp fiction* bob in a few weeks <wibble>. ?

    *Lou, retro celeb obsessed. ?

As LouM says it only suits a very specific type of person. I think it would look nice on posh if her miserable moo face changed and she managed to smile once in a while! looks like she's chewing on a wasp most of the time.

I myself will be refraining from this haircut with my fat cheeks it wouldn't be a good look.

I find it crazy that people follow celebrity hairstyles even if it doesn't suit them

Ive seen a few about already (however to be fair these women might have already had that style). I wouldn't have it done as have a pea head and no chin, so would look less Posh like and more Peahead like.

Blimey, I had that haircut years ago! I'm such a trendsetter. ? (I still have short hair but would look like a russian shotputter if I had the same cut now...)

I'd look like one of the big bulgy strawberries if I had mine done. Well if I also dyed it green ? I'm quite looking forward to seeing some people attempt it, is that really mean of me?

I have vowed never to have my hair cut short again after an incident when I was about 8 or 9. My Mum forced me to get my hair cut off - grade 3 round the back and sides, short and spiky on top. ?

Toddler strayed onto my drive one day whilst I was outside: Mum retrieved toddler with the words "get off the little boy's drive, darling."

    ☹️

You will not catch me sporting a posh.

I would consider getting a cut like that - not cos of misery guts having one but cos i like short hair and i think it suits me [see my profile picture ?

however it would be a bit high maintenance for me at the moment - i have been growing my hair a bit and am amazed that curls have developed - not sure how i would get a sleek look like hers with bugger all time to spend on myself ? would end up with what looks like a tight bubble perm on my head i think without proper looking after......

I wouldn't blindly have a hair cut just because some s'leb had one the same....

she did include pics and it quite suited her but I don't think that could be said for many people. The WP-er concerned works in a hair dressers I seem to recall....

Explains why I couldn't find anywhere to get my hair trimmed yesterday afternoon!!

I had to google to find the hairstyle and found a picture of her sat next to Jennifer Lopez. My lord, she's skeletal, isn't she?

I really, really like it on Posh. It wouldn't suit me at all. I am still getting used to going from below the boob length hair to just under my chin!!

That someone from WP would be me! I do work in a hair salon, and we haven't had a single person ask for it yet (except me). A fair few clients of ours have admired my haircut but have said they are not brave enough to do it.

This is me doing my best posh spice pose with my new 'do

What exactly is going on with the posing? In the pics where they are sat on the front row of some fashion show she looks like some kind of weird shop window mannequin!

I think it looks wonderful on VB. I wonder what it would look like on me, with my seventeen chins and grotty skin? ?

The pictures with Jennifer Lopez are terrible.

It would make me look like a little girl I think. Winona has had it for years too. I'd definatly says its the winona.

And like MM, I had the pob years ago too. I love graduated bobs but think shes made them look a bit essex.

Lou- I'd Love a Uma but I've been told a fringe wouldn't suit me Smiley sad can't wait to see your pics, a close friend has one (in black too) and it looks great.

I think Posh looks fab- I usually hate her haircuts/extensions but think she's gone for something which really suits her this time. I'm surprised there's been a rush to copy her- surely most people must realise that your average chubby face doesn't suit an elfin crop? Or maybe not, judging by the muffin tops with cropped tops you see around here.

You, my girl, are one of the very few whose lovely face would be ideal for the gamine crop (but your hair's too pretty to chop off really, hmph). As soon as my layers are long enough I'm going for the long bob, short fringe. Yikes! hairdresser says a few weeks, but I think he's over-estimating my rate of hair growth.

I don't like it at all on VB. I think in the past she has been able to look quite elegant but I don't think she does at all with this new do. She looks quite boyish even with a faceful of slap - how is she going to look au natural? ?

    I also hate the length of J-Lo's dress.... my, aren't I picky ? !!

WLS. I think uma would look fab on you Lou (in so many ways). I don't sadly think either would suit me - but that's nothing to do with face shape, more, would it need straightening within an inch of it's life?
