Hitched hen do/meet up anyone?

Mrs S*, 6 January, 2010 at 15:18 Posted on Planning 0 63

As we have a lot of newbies i think we need a meet up, and as a lot of us get married this year we can call it a hen do and use it as an excuse to have an extra glass of wine! Smiley laugh

Suggestions on where are open... where would be best for everyone?

Dates... Also... Give ideas!!

We haven't had a meet up in ages, and i really want to meet some of you lovely ladies, i spend half my life chatting to you all after all!

Scarily quickly, I seem to have got myself into a laid back mode at the moment, not even sorted the invites out yet eeek !!

Moya lol !! I am dreadful, I have no sense of direction and I can never understand how people know which platform goes where on the tube line ?? My H2B grew up and lived in London, he knows all the train/tube/bus sysytem. I lived in Cheshire for 37 years, moved to the middle of nowhere in Kent to live with H2B and I am truely clueless as to where anything is, even after 21/2 years. I have a golden triangle and in this triangle is my son's school, my doctors and a little town with a Waitrose in it !!! Lost in London would be what would happen if I was unsupervised !!!!!!

Juicymelons, i am exactly the same, i stay with in my comfort zone of a 10m radius from my house, anything further than that I need supervising! My OH works all over london and knows the tube lines like the the back of his hand, and it completely baffles me, how do you even know which way up and down the line your going!?

Maybe we could meet each other at a main train station and then tackle the rest together - blind leading the blind! x

I am more used to it now, but when I moved here I couldn't get my head around that there were no takeaways, it sounds so daft but I was used to ringing for a curry or a chinese whenever I want one, now it's a 45 minute round trip urrghhh When I go back to visit my parents I literally order anything and everything to be delivered just because I can !!!

Sorry, I've just realised how opaque I sounded in the above - makes it sounds like I'm advocating weekly outings! I meant p'raps we could have one in London, one in the North and one in Scotland, so diff people can meet up. (even though clearly London's the centre of the universe and you should all travel. ? )

Bit out there but how about Manchester?

Easy to get to by train from both London and scotland. And train tickets are pretty cheap in advance...

I'm in London however so if we do decide on there would be easy for me s

I could prob do bristol, would have to be a stay over thingie but OH says its not too bad a drive. Manchester is a long way for those on the south coast, im afraid manchester would count me out...cost me £110 to get there last time to see a man u match!

Maybe we should do some regionalised ones too like someone else suggested and then set up a photobox thingie to share all our days!?

    x
