First job I think is making the HIBs aware we're going to do this.

If they emailed me I can set up a flickr account for pictures of what they are offering (obviously with web addresses and contacts in case brides want to buy in case they don't win! ?)

We can then open up the photo account and set up a just giving page.

I know a few others struggled to get their prizes so for anyone who wants to donate a prize please be prepared to meet your offer.

Good point, it really wouldn't be in the spirit of what we are trying to achieve if people didn't get their winning item/service.

I offered to do this a few months ago, only one HIB was interested! I make jewellery and am happy to donate a prize. Fantastic cause too

True, the thought of doing this hadn't even crossed my mind until today but I am excited about getting this going.

So please HIBS sign up!!! As well as doing a wonderful thing for charity I think it will be great for our little community?

Just an idea, might be nice to get hitchers to vote on a charity, and make sure you can donate via just giving. You can then set up a page for the charity and everyone who wants to enter pays through that page leaving a comment saying who they are from hitched and then drops you an email with their 1st,2nd, 3rd,4th etc prize choices. That way you don;t have the pressure of dealing with the money side of things.

Happy to donate something (not sure what yet!) ... but can I make a suggestion around the charity thing? Maybe have different charites people can donate to via Just Giving (great idea Princess Pink!) - all charities are worthy, but folk have different priorities when it comes to charitable giving so it may appeal to one person to donate to an animal charity, and another a baby charity and so on... a few options could

1. Baby related
2. Animal related - WSPA or similar
3. Medical of some sort .. Cancer or Alzheimer's or similar

Just an idea but once the pages are set up folk can pick what one they want to donate to but still be part of the one big raffle on here .... iyswim!

Will email everyone now, thank you for being so generous. As I remember the raffles from before used to alternate their charities and there would be 2/3 a year - thats not to say we shouldn't change it now!

If we give it say another week for HIBs to join in, then a few days of voting after that to decide on charities we could probably make the raffle draw on April Fools Day!
