Hitchers ........ and HIBS......please let me see your table plans!

Saracroft251, 29 January, 2009 at 23:42 Posted on Planning 0 5

As Melancholie & SG45 know very well, (sorry girls) I have been working on preparing the worlds worst Table plan for my work event on Sat 31st Jan

Initally the numbers were 500, now there are just 330 people coming....? Tonight I stayed late at work and started my home made crapplan table plan. Its almost as tall as me!

I have never done anything like this b4 and it is hard work, (huuuge respect to HIB's who make these for a living) I have 33 tables and 3 copies of the table plan to make. I went to Hobbycraft and bought all the kit and made a template table plan using plain paper on A1 card just to check my measurements weren't off, luckily they werent. SO tomorrow morning I get the UHU out and start gluing my real table plan together

so... please can you inspire me and share with me some pics of yours, it would really help me to make mine look professional, and make me look competent on Saturday night.

I promise to post pics of my finished crap plan table plan

X

PS thanks to Mel for lending me her useful tool, it has really helped me

33 tables? My god! The biggest one I've done was for Selder on here, and that was 19 tables and that was big enough!!!

I don't have any photos handy tho' .... I only have two very basic sample ones made up for fayres ....

Its a shame it has to be so massive as they look really good if you use a frame rather than card, but it was be such a massive frame! And x 3!

Good luck, can't wait to see it!

(but imagine if it was 500 people eh?!)

Wassis tool Mel has lent you btw?!

I another way around it is to use three frames or canvases displayed together, it doesn't have to be all on one piece.

I have several examples of table plans here

I drew up our draft of our table plan this week on the back of some big A1 posters I'd taken from work (they were destined for the rubbish).

It's stuck to our lounge wall at the moment and has so many arrows and marks it looks like we've been discussing tactics for the next local footy derby!

You need a degree just to drawer it up I swear and we only have a top table and 5 tables.

I can't even begin to imagine what 33 must look like ?

Thanks so very much ladies, ?

You have really helped me in my quest, I have just this moment finished makeing them and I am exhausted, covered in PVA glue and bloody table confetti etc etc, the event is tomorrow and I shall upload some pics of them in thier glorry on Sunday morning, my 2 kittens have had so much fun tonight watching me get diamonds and paper stars out of my hair, even H2B helped for an hour (shock!!)

I am really proud of myself TBH, it sounds very silly but I feel like I have really achieved sommat !!

At least now when it comes to our wedding (60 people) 5 round tables and one top table will be a walk in the park,!

    Thanks again x x x
