Hitchers On Facebook Groups

Link to the 2014 one in my siggy ? and I think there's another for all brides called 'brides tying the knot'!

I have asked to be added to the 2014 list ! meant to do it ages ago lol

I joined the 2014 one the other day after seeing someone mention it on here and seemed to join right in the middle of an arguement. I daren't go back!

It seems on the group if the admin don't like you your being removed now. It's much nicer here on hitched at the moment. It's a real shame because the FB group was a good group x There is a slimming brides group as well as the brides one on FB which has been really helpful x

The admins sorted out a few issues with the 2014 group. Mostly people being argumentative just because they can. (I didn't get involved but this is my take on it all!)

It's a much nicer place now :-)

Interesting- according to a few of the 2014-ers Hitched is a nasty place full of vile bitter bullies so they had to retreat into a Facebook group for their own safety....

Mostly the same people causing both issues ;-)

Sorry but I've just got to put my 2 penith in here, yes there were some arguments in the 2014 group, but it was just blown out of all proportion imo. Admin then decided to delete various members of the group, some of which had no part in this or any other previous arguments. They deleted these people without any explanation to them or giving any one fair chance to defend themselves-I'll get off my soap box now! ?

I wouldn't be too hard on the admins. The ones who run the 2013 do so off their own backs. It's not a job, and they don't get paid for it. You try moderating loads of crazy brides with very differing opinions, whilst keeping a friendly and helpful atmosphere.

Yes, I joined and left the group for the same reason. Plus I felt a bit like it was a closed group and I was an outsider.

I left the 2014 facebook group recently far too much bitching, boasting, bickering & backstabbing....not for me (like you need to look at that after a days work) geeez, i couldnt be bothered lol, some of them dont seem very happy to say they are getting married next year!!!! Didnt leave one post or comment on there but it was always coming on my news feed- continual arguments.Not surprised by the above comment the 'admins' do seem to take their facebook admin authority very seriously lol.

That group is awful!!!! The admins are high of power, its like a dictatorship in there!!! Cant do anything with out people jumping on you.

Was the facebook group a spin-off of the hitched forums?

It just seems so much like the people on there are very different to the people on here. Was wondering if any facebookers are regular posters on here.

Since the admins deleted a few people its been a happier place.

I didn't get involved but stopped posting for a while due yo certain people keeping mouthing off.

The admins do a good job in my opinion

I am on both just because I like noseying at the pictures/ideas. I do find you get more help from the hitched brides but that's probably because there is more around. x

To be honest I think things like that do need admins if things go that way sometimes.

It's a shame though and I wouldn't want to be an admin but good on the people who take the time to.

The 2013 group is ace. There are arguments every now and then, but mostly not. Even though I rarely post on there anymore, it still helped me make quite a few new friends in the last year. There were some amazingly funny drama moments, though.

There are so many members, though, that it's difficult to follow everything, and so many photos are uploaded daily that many get lost in the feed. I post on both hitched and facebook.

2013 group are lovely it was a massive group but the group has reduced quite a lot in size recently and has got better again. I love my 2013 brides

This. I do love my Hofettes over there! But I also still love Hitched.

There's also a 2015 group which is fab

We're still only a small group so had no arguments yet! (May also be down to not having any stress yet!) :p

I think the Facebook groups make it lots easier for iPad users.. My iPad doesn't seem to like hitched so I rarely comment but am very active on the fb group

Looks like I perhaps should have stuck to getting married in 2015 instead!
