Hmm Tattoo brides?

Rebecca86, 19 January, 2011 at 20:36 Posted on Planning 0 43

I have 3 tattoo's one on my back which i am most certainly getting covered up for the day

i have one on my left wrist and one on the side of my left hand...not sure if there's anything

i can do to cover it up for where it is...or even if i should cover it up at all,

so what are all the other brides doing (if you have tattoo's) #

To cover or not to cover!!

Also have a scar on the back of my right hand due to an operation

i'm thinking a bracelet or something to cover this

Sorry for the pointlessness of this post but i'm bored

OH watching the football ☹️

I am def not covering up my tattoos. most of them wont be on show anyway because of my dress but the one that starts at the top of my back and runs down my spine will def be on show. Instead of covering it up I am doing the opposite and my make up artist is going to bring face paints to add colour and crystals to it so it becomes more part of my outfit.

I've got 5 tatoos all on my back (ish) due to this most of them will be covered apart from the one on my right shoulder which is a black butterfly and I can honestly say I love it and wouldn't want it covered. When trying on dresses with my mum (who really dosn't like them!) she actually said it looked worse with the straps as it didn't cover it fully so looked like i had a dirty mark on my dress/shoulder and actaully looked better with it on show.

I'm sure other people will disagree but i'm thinking it's just another little thing that will make my bride look completly individual

I have lost count on how many tattoo's I actually have. I can tell you in total on my body I have 104 stars at the moment. I have my left arm sleeved, a half sleeve on my right arm, my whole back tattoo'd, back of my neck, behind my ear and my wrists tattoo'd.

I also have 14 piercings, surgery scars, and two scarifications to my body too.

I only have a bolero jacket as i am getting married in February and didn't want to freeze. I don't mind my tattoo's on display, afterall when i got them, i got them to be proud of, because each of them has it's own meaning to me, personal sentimental meanings and memories. They are part of who i am, and although my mam doesn't like the piercings or the tattoo's....it makes me me.

I personally don't see the point in covering tattoo's. People get them for their own reasons, so why cover them for one day. Most people don't cover them for a night out, and theres no shame in being tattoo'd

    Smiley smile xxx

I'll be covering my half sleeve during the day for a couple of reasons. Number 1 my Mum, even though she is totally unfazed by my ink, has requested that it might be nice to have it covered up for the photos! MIL is non too keen either so it'll keep them happy. And number 2 it'll be bleddy freezing in November so I'm going to wear a bolero with wrist length sleeves to keep me warm. It'll be coming off at night so my sleeve and back piece will be on full show!

(here is a pic of the hugeness of it.)

Part of my half sleeve - still need more ink done but pregnancy stopping that at the moment:

And you can see some of my sleeve (still in progress - as when i'm finished it will be completely solid in colour from the top star down to my wrist) :

The only reason i was thinking of covering the one on my back up is because it's all black

and might look a bit silly, but after reading some of the comments on there,

i'm not going to cover them up....

I think i may even get the infinity tattoo me & OH were looking into

may surprise him for valentines x

My tattoos are actually covered by my dress (not deliberate) but was considering one on my shoulder so if I do get another one I wouldnt cover it up, i think i'd be proud to show it off Smiley smile

I have both wrists tattooed and have chosen to cover them. I've ordered extra of my dress material to have a bolero made. I personally don't like them on show on wedding piccies.

If I cant find anything to cover mine up such as tattoo make up etc then I will have them airbrushed out as like BB I dont want to see them on my wedding photos, I do kind of regret having the 3 that I have on my arms but unfortunately cant afford to have them removed Smiley sad

Miss.... you'll most likely be boiling especially being preggers! I always get too hot after one glass of red vino so I'll definitely be taking off my jacket.

BrideBrat, that's fair doos. Mine is so huge that I don't want it to distract from my dress on the photos if that makes sense? I want some more doing up over my shoulder and upper back by my Mum will kill me!

I'm having both of mine covered with body concealer - I don't like them, got them done when I was young and drunk and I never show them off if I canhelp it.

You can only see two of mine so they will be on show but not majorly, ones on the back of my neck, the other inside of my wrist. my others are on my lower back, each thigh and ankle.

I don't want to cover mine up but the one on my neck will be partially hidden by my veil.

I only have one tattoo, on my shoulder that was done when i was very young and feeling a bit of a rebel. I don't hate it but I also don't want to show it off on the day or have people staring at it the whole time my back is to them during the ceremony. So I'm hoping to cover it up, but it is all black so going to be difficult without it looking like a smudge on my shoulder. Does anyone have have any recommendations for good cover up make up?

I have several tattos - I'll covering one of them with another tattoo! It's the first one I ever got, a small rose on my shoulder, but 20 years on it's looking very faded and sad, so I'm having a bold tribal design to cover it.

I'm not hiding my tats, the ones on my legs will be hidden by the dress, but the ones on my arms will be visible. I may even have a memorial tat or kanji to represent my dad as he won't be there.

    (Who said chavvy slapper!?)

I've got a tattoo on the bottom of my back that will be covered by my dress and a slight scar from where I had a tattoo removed a couple of years ago on my shoulder that will probably be on show. It's not very noticeable but I might put somehting on it to cover it up. In the past I've used MAC Studiofix concelear to cover it which worked well (before I had it removed!)

Tattoo's don't appeal to me. I don't even have my ears pierced. (This is actually despite being a goth throughout most of my teenage years).

I think it's all down to attitude - if they are something you had done in a drunken haze and regret, then I'd probably be saving up for tattoo removal, and I'd cover them up if possible.

If they're part of you, like Miss, then I would treat them like any other part of you.

I do find the juxtaposition of tattos and white bridal dresses very odd looking, however. If I had lots of tattoos, I'd probably be wanting a dress more like Dita's...

My due date is August 5th, however because it is such a high risk pregnancy he or she will be delivered by section up to 2 weeks early, so i should imagine between the 22nd and 29th of July Smiley smile

I'm just debating how long to continue working for at the moment. I'll be finishing work, not going on maternity. Can't risk it with my spine (titanium implants on spine) so do i work until i'm 16 weeks (until the wedding) or do i push to 20 weeks. I am a high risk as i say, and my job as a taxi driver has its obvious risks, let alone sitting for shifts as long as 10 hours each time. xx

    first scan tomorrow morning xx

    Dita's dress was gorgeous.

I understand what you say about a white dress and tattoo's on show etc. I guess the way i'm doing my wedding - black dress, hair extensions, etc i can get away with my tattoo's being on show.

....now, if only i had Dita's figure! lol

16 weeks sounds reasonable, but then i think it's more with what you'd feel comfortable with.

First scan tomorrow aw how exciting,

I loved my scans it's just amazing seeing the ting little baby on that screen.

    Enjoy xx

It's been near 8 years since i had my first son, so i'm a little nervous for the scan. I think once i see Jellybean on the screen i'll be able to relax a bit more into the pregnancy xx
