Hmmmm... Engagement party issues...

BrittGale, 15 March, 2011 at 11:58 Posted on Planning 0 1

So, we got engaged on Saturday and wanted to have a party relatively soon (Seeing as we're going to quite a few weddings this year anyway!)

So we have booked the church hall on our street for the party.

The only problem was that my SIL2B mentioned she couldn't make a certain date but consequently that was the only date that compared with our commitments and the church hall being booked, that was available until the end of June!!

We've booked that date as I didn't want to wait until the end of Summer and I have text to apologise but she has been calling my OH about it.

It's a shame but it's not like she is never going to see us ever again....??

I don't know what to do!?

I agree with the family meal. We had an engagement party crossed with a housewarming, and as we knew it'd probably be more of a 'house party' thing, we didn't invite parents. But we did all get together for a meal after we viewed our venue, which was nice as our families were actually able to chat. Our wedding is in June and I'm much more interested in everyone being able to make the wedding day!
