Hobbies

Do you have a hobby or belong to a club?

I often think that I fancy joining a club or having a new hobby but I haven't a clue what I'd do.

I'm not competitive at all (I'm all about it's the taking part that counts) but would still be interested to hear all your hobbies.

So, what are you hobbies?

I've been feeling the same recently and wasn't sure what to do. Last week I booked a few weeks of horse riding lessons as it was something I enjoyed at school. I've also started to bake more at home and am hoping to do some textiles (cushion covers etc). Couldn't decide on what so have gone for all three! I'll be interested to see what other people do though for some inspiration!

I bake, crochet, cross stitch, draw/paint, make cards, paper cuts, make jewellery, and H got me a sewing machine for Christmas, so I have been playing with that.

All self taught, never considered clubs or anything.

Want to learn to knit next.

    Talented ladies!

I used to know how to knit but that was yonks ago.

I also used to dance & did it for 13 years until my knees gave up on me (I blame the trampolining I also used to do).

I'd love to do something like an adult tap class but not entirely sure they exist!!

I like the idea of doing something fairly social... I'm just not sure what.

I don't really have any hobbies (Hitched doesn't count I'm assuming?!) but I also feel the same from time to time. I read a lot if that counts. Have a look at classes at your local Adult Education Centre. I've got my eye on a couple once all my time and money is no longer going into the wedding, there's a silver smithing course I'm really interested in (as I loved making our wedding rings), and a floristry course.

I keep thinking about starting something like karate but it's finding the time. I have just started gym classes though and I'm enjoying them way more than I thought.

I've tried a lot of hobbies!

I danced for 12 years doing Latin American, ballroom and a mix of others, I played flute and saxophone for a few years, I've done card making, knitting, jewellery making and cross stitch.

Recently I've taken up crochet and baking is my most serious hobby.

I love trying new things although music and dancing were the only things that I did classes for, I like just having a bash. Occasionally I'll pick up an old hobby and try something new.

I used to play keyboard but gave up when I got to level 6 as I was getting bored with it.

I also used to do Shotokan Karate, which I loved but stopped when I moved away. I can never pluck up the courage to rejoin as I have put on a lot of weight and my base level of fitness isn't as good as it used to be.

The only current hobby I have is archery, I haven't been in ages though as the weather has been too bad on Sunday mornings and I can't make the evening shoots as they start at 5:30 (I am at work until 6).

I am trying really hard to get into running too. I wish I had someone to run with, but I am too scared to join a club and none of my friends live close by. I should probably stop being such a wimp!

Ok, I'm not counting Hitched as a hobby right now although I do find myself on here every 5mins on my phone.

I do wonder what I'm going to do with myself once I'm married... I'll still be on OT of course but I feel like I'll be getting my life back in some ways as every spare penny won't be going on the wedding anymore. So I want to do something interesting and possibly meet new people.

Not really anything anymore. It used to be local radio/music. Gave it up as I got bored and I like having my evenings free. I am so untalented at crafty things and baking. My family and in laws, H and I all belong to a social club so keep ourselves busy organising and attending entertainment events and quizzes there.

I play Curling and make cards and other crafty bits. Is dog walking a hobby? I'd love to train her to work on a shoot for fun, but there aren't any suitable classes or I'd go to them, same with fly ball and agility. She'd love it but I'd not be able to keep up and get lost going round course!

I have solitary hobbies! I love to get lost in books, or bake or going running/walking.

I have such a customer facing job and spent so much time talking to people for a living that 'me' time I just want peace and quiet and to get lost in my thoughts.

My main hobbies are spinning and knitting, but I also love reading, baking and yoga. I would love to be able to give up work and concentrate on my hobbies full time Smiley smile I have quite and solitary hobbies too, but I think that is because I am a naturally introverted person. I have thought about joining classes for various things, but I am too shy.

We decided on honeymoon to take up a hobby we could do together so we now do Archery. H takes it alot more seriously than I do, in the sense he is always in competitions but it is the kind of thing you can do with no real level of fitness and is good fun if you belong to a nice club as you get the social aspect as well. It also fantastic for those with any kind of disability. There is a blind lady who shoots at our club and a young boy with learning difficulties who has come on tremendously with the discipline of the sport and support of the adults there. ?

I like to do crafting. At the moment I'm doing a big big scrapbook. I have TONS of stuff to put in it, so I'm excited to see the finished product.

I used to dance, which I loved, but my dance school closed down and I didn't really have the enthusiasm to find another one at the time, though now I wish I had done.

My main hobby, though, is am dram. Normally I'm on stage, but this time I'm in the directors seat which is proving to be an exciting challenge!

This is why I like running on my own. People get really offended when I tell them I don't want to run and event 'with' them.

I like to sew, handsewing though, not a machine. I read and run a lot but the thing that take up most of my time is netball.

I love reading and watching the TV. I realise these may be boring to some but I really do enjoy it!

We've recently starting jogging together and although I don't love it I'm glad I'm doing it. We've also started swimming lessons as we were both poor swimmers and I've surprised myself by really enjoying it. Once our lessons are over I think I'm going to still try and go once a week.

Every now and again I start sewing again, I started a patchwork quilt for my niece but never finished it so might dig that out after my holiday and try and get it done.

It used to be writing and drama groups, but after I had a main role with loads of lines to learn it put me off drama and I get far too distracted by modern technology now to write anymore.

I do love photography but haven't joined any specific groups or classes yet and I am learning Spanish through an amazing app, but again no classes. I would love to start salsa dancing again.

I'm not sure I have any hobbies, I'm not good at sports or anything creative. If I'm at home I'll either be hitching, facebooking, listening to music, chatting to H, occasionally watching TV or a film. I used to love reading and keep meaning to get back into it, and sometimes I'll do a bit of baking. I also love going to the cinema and theatre (especially musicals), gigs, live comedy and art shows.

I taught myself from youtube. To be honest its really easy, a monkey could do it, but I don't tell anyone that when I give them my hand-spun, hand-knitted gifts Smiley smile

My aim is to be good enough to set up my own little etsy shop and sell my hand spun.

Interesting you should say about makeup. I guess thats a recent addition to my hobby list too, but I have never thought about it that way before. Now I have I can justify buying that new lipstick I want much more easily...

    Eating.

I also like bike-rides, walking, mountain-climbing, yoga, reading and doing puzzles. I wish I was more crafty - I'd love to spin wool! What a wonderful skill!
