'holibobs'

Snowball, 25 August, 2010 at 11:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

I keep hearing this being said instead of saying holidays.

I don't like it.

Is this a new 'in phrase'?

I always thought Holibobs was a Hitchedism myself. I usually say 'hols' or just plain 'holiday'. Boring, me!

I've got some friends who've used that term for at least a couple of years (non-hitchers) - not that keen on it either.

I've used it for years as well. It used to annoy me so many people used it in work that it just stuck.
