Holiday in Feb - is this possible?

Pookiedoodle, 26 December, 2008 at 22:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

Hello everyone, how was your Christmas?

Well, the lovely Mr Pooks has given me 1000 pounds (And tickets to see NKOTB, wooohooooo!) for a holiday for the 4 of us, but as we've never been on holiday in the new year, I have no idea if this is possible.

Would anyone like to advise me?

There's me and him, our son and daughter, aged 7 and 9.

We'd like to go somewhere warm/hot in Feb, leaving from anywhere in London - we are in Northants.

Is this do-able, or do I need to get saving?

Thankyou so much.

?

We went to the gambia in february, it was fab. it was very hot though, and it wasn't very 'kiddie' (in that there are no mcdonalds, kids clubs that sort of thing. if that's the kind of thing your children like)

don't know about the budget but they always have offers

Ooh, thanks for your reply Kieren - it's so quiet on here tonight, where is everyone???

    I'll definitely look into that.

    I'm so clueless, it's pathetic!

    xx

What about somewhere like Egypt? It's not so hot that time of year and you can pick up some good deal especially for a resort holiday by the red sea and i would definitely recommend Egypt. I love the place.

Should be able to do the Canaries for that. You'll probably need to save for spending money too though.

Expedia package hol selection is quite good for that, you can put in a price range and it will find all areas it goes for that criteria... with approx temps for that week

I have booked a cheap and cheerful (hopefully!) week in Fueteventura for beginning of February, through www.travelrepublic.co.uk

If you don't have exact dates in mind, I think you could get a good deal for 3-4* appartments for around £800

If that is £1000 including spending money i think it will be tight to be honest. I am lookuing at feb holidays, just before xmas the one i want was £80 PP than it is now! The prices are changing every few days so i would keep looking until the price reflects what you can afford, don't wait for it to go down as it just as easily goes up (as i have found and am kicking myself!)

Tunisia would be cheap but iffy weather, and if you go AI you wont have to worry about much spending money.
