The first I've known since waaaaaaaaaaay before hitched, so that doesn't count. Probably.
The second I met through hitched but we've become firm friends over the last 3 years and our children are similar ages so it worked, plus it was more of a long weekend than a full on holiday - does that count?
I'd consider it. Actually I have considered it, and if person and her family were still interested (and we could get round to sorting it), I'd (we'd) be keen.
[aside] Clare I think YOU are the crazy one - going on holiday with a bloke like Chook, he'll spend all the weekend dragging you around town trying to find a bar that shows the football and then back at the hotel he'll leave his boxers on the floor and leave stubble in the sink. Good luck, bud. [/aside]
Oh ,SB says "Hello" to you, but probably in a more slurry way! ?
I've stayed with Lumpy for a few days and stayed in the same hotel as Ladelley but not really been on a proper holiday with a hitcher. Lumpy was meant to be coming to Edinburgh (to the book festival) for a week with me the summer but it didn't happen in the end.
I would love to go away with hitchers, I have a pretty long list of people I would be happy to go with! ?
If I had lots of money, I would whisk Monkey Fingers and Ned off to Crieff Hydro with my mum next month. MF could have lots of relaxation, I could chill out with her and my mum could take Ned for long walks in the country. We could have a proper girly (well ned is too young to care) week, it would be fabulous.
I would, i have had a few weekends with some weirdos, also, last december i shared a room in Kenya for 2 weeks with a woman i had met just once before (granted there was a whole group of us there) but we had one of the best holidays ever. I think you know quite soon whether you are going to get on well as holiday buddies.
Meeting wierdos off the t'interweb? Oh no, never. They'd turn you into slippers/sombreros/kiss me quick hats (depending on where the holiday took place).
I went to the UK and met several hitchers, but did not stay with them. I stayed with Cariad, who did not make me into slippers. Bloody nice of her, too!
I drove two Hitchers up to Edinburgh for the weekend to meet another two Hitchers. I drove from Surrey and picked them up from various points along the A1. I now don't speak to hardly any of the Hitchers concerned ? so I'm guessing, for us, it was a no-no. lol. Actually, I'm fairly sure they all still speak to one another, so it must just be me...ho-hum....[toddles off to eat worms...]
A few of us were meant to go camping in the summer, but it didn't eventuate. There are lots of hitchers I like enough to go on holiday with, but I don't know if the feeling's mutual. ?
Ive been on holiday with 2 hitchers, but since that was before we all found hitched it doesnt really count! I would though, internet weirdies dont bother me I have met well over 50 people via the internet including my H.
What Winkle said......I would never have travelled all that way to another hitchers wedding that would just be plain stoopid to meet imaginery people that live in the computer...
