I'm looking for some inspiration... Where are you going on holiday this year? (The cheaper the better!)

    This is on my list.

H is obsessed with saving money at the moment so I need to find a really good bargain that he couldn't possibly resist, or a cheapy holiday.

Sign up to Travelzoo... they send through fab offers every week...

Not so good for me as they are never school holiday ones, but worth a peek...

We were planning a week on the Isle of Skye in June - depend what happens if we can affort it. H really wants a break and is looking at us going camping (we can borrow all the gear we need from his sister and BIL).

Not totally sold on the camping idea yet - the lack of a proper loo puts me off!

    Camping for the win!!

If you pick a good campsite, you'll get a good shower/toilet block anyways!

    Honeymoon in Kenya in May!

Although we will try and fit in a couple of camping trips. OH took me one one to Wales just before the wedding to get away from it all. Brilliant time!

Newquay is also brilliant for camping! My sister is a fan of cottage/lodge holidays, they don't bother with location, just pick a cheap one and discover somewhere new :-)

Turkey..cheap, hot and not too far to fly. Winning.

Think H and I will then have a holiday without the sproglets, maybe Egypt. Would love to go back to Mexico though. And possibly Cornwall for NYE.

HT - Cuba is amazing!! I went 10 years ago and loved it. Would love to go back!

I'm off in approximately 10 weeks to Rhodes. Have never been to the Greek islands before so really looking forward to it. We're going for 11 nights B&B and it was just shy of £800 I think. It could've been a lot cheaper but H was being a snob so we're staying in 5 star accommodation. He paid for it though so I can't complain. I have to take the spending money though!

If I wasn't going there I'd be going to my Mum's apartment in Spain and I'll probably factor in a trip down to Devon at some point in the summer to see my Dad! Still can't quite to get grips with him living down there and it's been 3 years now!

Off to Cuba on my honeymoon at a resort where room service is included in the all inclusive. As it champers and lobster dinners. Can't wait.

I didn't go away last year so I'm allowed to gloat a little!

We went to Mexico last year Flow. Absolutely amazing.

We're off to Tenerife in April (it was super cheap) its our last holiday as a couple and probably abroad for a few years. I'm really looking forward to it.

H and I had big plans for our holidays this year, and they were all scuppered by having to move to a more expensive flat Smiley sad

Hoping to get away for a week in the late summer, maybe to Mull or something. I love Home grown holidays. I just struggle to find somewhere to go as there are so many places!

We were going to Gibraltar, but the family has been told my grandmother probably only has 2 or 3 months left to live, due to Alzheimer's. Therefore we're going to Long Island (NY) to see her in early March.

We won't be having another holiday this year, because we'll be off on honeymoon in early 2013, and with the cost of our honeymoon we can't justify another holiday this year.

We're going on honeymoon to Cyprus at the end of May ? A week in a caravan in Norfolk in August with OH's youngest two and a week in Gran Canaria with friends in September. It's an adults only hotel so will be a welcome relief after the very child orientated week in August!

How do you go about finding an adult's only hotel? On the usual websites I always click the adults option - then reading the blurb about said hotels it suggests, they go on about their kids clubs! My search for a proper 'adult's only' hotel has not been very good! Then I nearly ended up in an 'adult' hotel by accident... which is something else entirely!

Theres loads!! have a quick flick through say,a first chocie brochure and youl find them with a label on! I have to say, i think they're more common the further afield you go (carribean etc) rather then europe but they are still about!!

Yep, it is adult only. It's the Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort & Spa, in Guardalavaca.

Now, I found one in a brochure and showed it to the travel agent who said "you realise that's an adult hotel, as in ADULT" so I'm now a bit worried I pick a dodgy one!

You are right Flow about them being more common the further afield you go, don't seem to be many on the cheap and cheerful options! I have nothing against the kiddies, they were fine, it was their ned parents screaming at them all the time that got on my wick....

Jolene - would you mind giving me details of Gran Canaria hotel?

Hi ATB, I din't actually pick the hotel and I can't remember the name off hand, I'll find out and post it later. My friend picked and when I checked it out on Trip Advisor that's where I saw the adults only bit, it was a bonus rather than the main reason for choosing it.

Maybe France for a couple of days in June to take Mr K's grandad to visit his penpals. Might not happen.

Other than that, nothing planned until mega wedding/honeymoon trip which will be 7 days in Sydney, including the wedding, 5 days in Fiji, 2 days in San Francisco, 3 days in Las Vegas and 2 days in Little Rock, Arkansas.

It seems to be in the comments that it's adults only, hope I haven't misread and turn up to find a school trip there!!

Thanks Jolene - I'm on the case! I've also found what claims to be an adults only hotel but it has a water slide (they specify this is a big one) so it sounds perfect for us who, at 29 and 49 are worse than the kids when it comes to things like that!

This thread has really put me in the mood to get something booked, text the man friend to which he replied "do you ever do any work?" we know the answer to that...
