Homemade Invitation Inserts

Ali_G, 8 September, 2011 at 10:45 Posted on Planning 0 2

Morning all,

Am currently in the process of making invitations for my sisters' wedding and am in a bit of a predicament over the inserts. The card is gatefold and she wants the insert just stuck to the inside. What paper would you use for this? I don't want to use just plain printer paper, because that wont look nice enough. Should I used parchment? Vellum? Mullberry? Bearing in mind they need to go through a printer, so don't want the ink messing up and going funny.

Thanks in advance!

We are planning on using linen effect paper, so a thick, slightly textured paper but nothing so OTT that it is going to cause a problem with the printer.

I used "gold dust" pearlised/pearlescent paper which was 120gsm so a bit thicker than normal paper but has gone through the printer no bother.

So maybe just a slighter thicker paper in a nice finish & colour which matches/fits the colour scheme?

Just found some of this on eBay and it's reasonably priced so think I will get some.

    Thanks!
