Honest advice - walking down the aisle

I think it sounds like a lovely idea! so many brides dont have the traditional Father of the bride escort these days (i had my 2 brothers) and i think it is a lovely tough to have your son walk you down the aisle, I bet he will be as proud as punch!

It's a great idea.......except how close are to your dad? If you are really close he may be disappointed he won't be walking you down the aisle. If so you could have both. If not your son will do a great job.x

I think it is a lovely idea, if you wanted to include your Dad as well you could walk down on your Dad's arm but holding your Son's hand on the other side.

My dad and I are quite close, but he had suggested my brother and said he wouldnt take offence if I wanted to include him this way (i have been married

before. my dad said hes happy to walk me down the aisle if i want him to)

I want to do the same! My little boy is 2 and a half, but I am my dads first daughter to marry and I feel bad suggesting it. If your dad doesnt mind then go for it!!

I think it's a fab idea! Like you I have been married before (hence my username!) and this time my two boys are going to walk me down the aisle. It didn't seem right having my Dad do it as he'd already done it before. And also like you we are having a Civil Ceremony so I think it's fine ?

I think it is a lovely idea. I would love to do this but as others have said not sure how my Dad would feel (my 2nd marriage too). I letting my little one walk my mum down the aisle.

It sounds as if your Dad is fine with it so if it is what you want go for it!

I'd definately do this! my daughter is walking down the aisle with my sister but love the idea of this xxx

My boys are giving me away but my dad passed away 18 months ago.

I think its a beautiful heart-warming idea and i've seen this done a few times - it always brings a tear to everyones eye! My little boy was 18months old when we got married and we held him throughout the ceremony - I couldnt imagine doing it any other way x x
