Honest opinion on favour idea *with flash*

victoriamarie, 13 March, 2011 at 14:54 Posted on Planning 0 10

I bought some clear bags off ebay with the intention of filling them up with something edible for our wedding favours. Today I bought some pick-n-mix (picked all the pink sweets to match our dusky pink and ivory theme) and made up a test favour bag to see what it looked like. I was very pleased at first but after asking my hubby to be for his opinion he said he was worried that against the rest of of our table decorations they would look cheap and "kiddy like" (ie more suited to a children's party). He says because he is a man and knows nothing about weddings I should be asking other women if I want an opinion on them, so here it goes!

Aww thanks, I will be adding a tag on the finished product and maybe some dusky pink curling ribbon (the ivory in the pic came free with the bags)

    I like them!

Put a nice tag on them and i personally think they would look great. These are kind of like the ones I'm doing for our favours.

Personally I think they are fab - love this and as the other girls have said with a tag to double up as a place setting your onto a winner.

Just wondering what are your other decorations are like do they fit well with these and in your theme?

Just make sure the tie is easy to untie, as otherwise people will rip the bag open to get to the sweeties! I like them, but a nice tag will make them more 'weddingy'.

Where did you get the clear plastic bags from & how much? I need some to line my favour boxes as worried about melted chocolate otherwise.

    Hi

what are the rest of your table decorations? are you going for a formal or more relaxed feel? i love sweeties so we are having sweetie bar in the evening, i think like everyone has said a nice tag with your names or place card type would just finish it off.

(i think you are very organised i can imagine remembering favours the week before my wedding!)

I think they are lovely! Nice and simple.

If it were me, I would add a thicker ribbon to make it more weddingy, but that's just my opinion.

    The idea is great!! :-)

Thanks for comments ladies, I will definitely be adding a tag (although not for names as I already have seperate place settings), and a thicker ribbon is a great idea. My centerpieces are these with mirror plates underneath and pink and clear crystals scattered about:
