Honeymoon - Brecon Beacons vs Northumberland

imabusybee, 14 June, 2015 at 22:05 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hello all!

Current item on the list to be ticked off is our honeymoon - we've narrowed it down to Brecon Beacons or Northumberland. I've found a few very nice luxury cottages to stay in, where we can take our beloved pooch (we're dog people Smiley tongue ) so now trying to decide which will be the best location.

I've never been to either but I have a bit of a soft spot for Wales in general. We like pottering around pretty villages, castles, etc. Things I definitely want to do on honeymoon - spa day, pony trekking, boat trip - but I'm pretty sure we can do these in either location.

So any opinions from people who've been to these places before? We're in Wetherby, Yorkshire so Brecon Beacons would be about an hour further to drive but that doesn't matter much to us.

Thanks in advance!

Being a completely biased Welsh girl here... Go with the Brecon Beacons!!! It is absolutely gorgeous!! You can do all the stuff you want and more here :-)

There are tons of gorgeous castles to wonder about, wonderful forests etc. This area is super duper dog friendly including plenty of pubs etc.

If you have any more questions about this area or anything feel free to PM me :-)

Being from Wales too, I'd vote for Brecon Beacons Smiley smile Plenty of nice walks and things to do. Although I do love Northumberland also.

I'll go for Northumberland as I live not far and it's gorgeous. Plus you're only an hour or so from Edinburgh on the train :-)

Another vote for Northumberland. Lindisfarne is a must see.
