Honeymoon .... Does it matter where ??

kellouloud, 11 October, 2012 at 13:50 Posted on Planning 0 5

We have a place in Benidorm and try to get out there least 4/5 times a year we also have 4 kids between us.

We can't decide if to Honeymoon in Spain or try save and go someplace different ! Feel a little selfish not taking kids away although they will still go with their mum and dad part of me really wants to go some where new but then I think why bother the flights are £300 all our clothes are their, we know we will have a fantastic time. Or won't it feel special :-(

Which would u do ? X

If money is tight, I'd go for a long weekend somewhere, just the 2 of you, then have a "family honeymoon" later on.

It's your honeymoon, so there's no need to feel bad about not taking the kids. Your honeymoon is about you and your hubby. If you can afford to go somewhere fancy or do a bit of travelling, then that's great, but if you can't, there's absolutely nothing wrong with doing something cheaper. It's what you make it.

We have 2 kids so r opting for 4 days in NY, then we r going to do 9 days in Turkey next may with the kids. I would go for what ever makes you guys feel happy and comfortable, we went for the 4 days because I don't want to leave my daughter for any longer than that, but everyone is different.

I think it will still be special, as it will just be the two of you. Splash out at a fancy restaurant that you might not normally eat at with the kids, lie in bed all day, have champagne and strawberries for breakfast, etc.

If we can afford a honeymoon then we have to take the kids, we dont have that kind of family that would help out and watch them even for a few days so our honeymoon wont really be special

I went to Corfu on a cheap, cheerful type holiday. It was a basic hotel (and the rooms really were basic) but me and husband had a great time just chilling out together and talking about our wedding day as there was so much of our mornings that we of course didn't see. Don't feel bad about not taking your children, it is a honeymoon for you and your husband. If you can afford something new and nice then go for it, but if not, Spain will be lovely. Me and OH didn't have luxury hotel or fabulous destination, but still had a fantastic honeymoon.
