Honeymoon half forgotten?

MrsShep, 26 August, 2014 at 18:40 Posted on Planning 0 7

Has anyone found that with all the planning of the wedding, their honeymoon has taken a back seat? I've just input our passport information and had a look at the pictures, I'd forgotten what it looked like! I'm normally so excited about holidays. It has helped me get excited again though! Can't wait to spend some time just the two of us after the craziness of the wedding build up.

Yep! I'm normally googling weather forecasts and obsessing on trip advisor but I haven't even looked been all about the wedding! It's going to be so nice to still have something after the big day is over although I can't help but feel slightly sad me and OH can't have just a night or 2 away alone. I'm so excited to take our daughter on her first holiday but having a 1 year old around is going to take away from the 'honeymoon' part of it! I guess I have to think that part or our relationship is over for the next 16 years! Xx

Yep! Me! Our honeymoon is 6 weeks after the wedding so beginning of January and I completely forgot about shopping for it! Went looking at the beginning of August and there are no summer clothes in the shops :-(

We're not going until 4 months after the wedding, so will have plenty of time to get over-excited again after the big day is done!

We can't decide when the best time to go on honeymoon would be - as we're getting married end of September next year, and are looking to honeymoon in Europe, we're not sure the weather is going to be all that good. We would prefer to go fairly soon after the wedding, but realise winter will be on it's way, or the alternative is to wait until summer the year after to go. Honeymoon planning has definitely taken a back seat to wedding planning!!

Yeah ive hardly thought about our honeymoon, we get married on the 3rd October friday and then go off for a week to Kos on the following Wednesday. All ive done is bought some summer clothes but not even thought about anything else. i cant wait though, first holiday away together without the kids so will feel like a proper honeymoon :-)

HappyRedCars135 - How about a greek island such as Santorini, or somewhere like cyprus? Places further south like that stay hot until much later in the year.

I've not been thinking about honeymoon much (flying to Cuba on 2nd March, 2 days after wedding) except I know I want to get a white bikini to take so I can show off the tan! For now though, i'm mainly stressing about the wedding and family creating problems!

We've deliberately put the honeymoon on the backburner as we're on a tight enough budget for the wedding, we've got enough wedding planning to do and we're only going to have a couple of nights away straight after anyway because of term/childcare. We're going to sit down after the wedding and plan a family honeymoon instead ?

Aww, bless you all! We decided on a honeymoon directly after the wedding to give us time to be just the two of us, and chill out after the wedding. No little ones for us so we didn't need to worry about that. We're flying to Egypt on the 29th September (2 days after the wedding) my h2b wanted to go somewhere in the 30s, so Egypt was about the only place we could go!
