honeymoon help

~Curley~, 13 March, 2013 at 10:48 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hiya Ladies Smiley smile

im getting married August next year and really need help with my honeymoon. i really wanted the caribbean but its wet season at this time of year and i dont want to wait! Can anyone suggest anywhere. Ideally i would like nice hot weather, somewhere abit different (but dont mind the eu, just not benidorm or somewhere like that lol) would consider self catering or all inclusive. my overall budget would be around £2500 ( not including spending money). would like a little bit of luxury or something a little special as its my honeymoon. Please help!!!!

Thanks in advance

Not sure of how much it costs now but we went to Malaysia for our honeymoon in August 2003. Fantastic weather and superb hotels. We did Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Egypt or Tunisia, aruba in the Caribbean does not have a rainy season. Thomson Holidays operate routes there

We were looking at Bali for an August/Sept honeymoon as it looks amazing and I'm pretty sure you could do that on your budget too. Other options that others haven't already suggested could be Marrakech for culture, Santorini or Kefalonia in Greece or Eze in the South of France (I fell in love with the place - it's 15mins from Manaco & 45mins from Cannes).

Also, Dubai would be really hot then too!

You could consider Thailand as well? Bit dear to get over there, but things out there are really cheap and you can mix it up with beach time and touristy bits (or all beach!)

I would avoid Mexico (and most of the Caribbean/Florida) at that time of year like the plague. I went in July a few years ago and there was a category 5 hurricane while I was there! It's generally hurricane season in that part of the world from around May - September inclusive. Italy would be great for a European honeymoon - try the Hotel Caruso in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast, I went there for a wedding a couple of years ago and it was lovely, the scenery is amazing!

I went to Mexico last August and only got 5mins of rain on one day, the rest of the time it was scorching!! as for the Carribbean I have been in August and July too, rained in short bursts maybe once every two days but every year is different so I wouldnt write it off completely!!
