Honeymoon Ideas

JuneBride16, 12 June, 2015 at 09:39 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 8

Fiancé and I are unsure as to what to do for our honeymoon next August. So I was wondering if everyone could share where they went? for how long? and if you don't mind how much it cost you to give us some inspiration and an idea of how much it will cost us.

Campervanning in Cornwall for a week... only £350 to hire the camper and then just fees for the sites you use and spending money! Not expensive at all! :-)

We haven't had ours yet.. wedding is in June next year and we are planning on doing the honeymoon towards the end of the year as the wedding is abroad so kind of counts as a minimoon anyway! We have always discussed going on Safari and are definitely leaning towards this still, just narrowing options down. We have agreed 4/5 days on Safari and then a beach nearby for complete relaxation and after a recommendation from a friend are looking at Madagascar! It looks beautiful and so idyllic!

We're going to Malta for a week, it's costing £1,300 for the two of us and that's all inclusive in a really nice hotel. Can't wait!

We're off to Ubud and Lombok for two weeks 5* was £5,000. We wanted to go all out to a once in a lifetime destination we could always attribute to our honeymoon.

We have private villas, a butler, the lot - so excited Smiley smile We really struggled to find somewhere in August as it's monsoon weather in a lot of hot longhaul destinations.

I really recommend booking early if its long haul you want as it's school holidays in august so will never be cheap!

If you can give us an idea of the max you'd want to spend we could all make some suggestions I'm sure.

What's your budget? I love America so I would probably head to the west coast, visit LA/San Francisco/San Diego etc and spend a few days in Hawaii at the Disney property Aulani. But it wouldn't be cheap Smiley smile

Not until August 2017, but we're going for two weeks in Vietnam and then on to Japan for another two weeks. I've budgeted about £15,000, including spending money. Vietnam will be really cheap once we're there, but Japan will be quite pricey, so our idea is to focus on luxury accommodation etc in Vietnam and then have slightly more budget accommodation (including a capsule hotel - yey!) when we travel round Japan. It's costing more than the wedding, but when you compare it to spending £15k on one day, it seems better value to me.

Thanks for the ideas so far. Our budget is around £5-6000. Really like the idea of a safari and then beach after or something similar where we can relax as well as do something once in a lifetime.

Cache13 - who did you book with? We priced up Singapore, Ubud and finishing in a bali beach resort and we got quoted £5500 and all the hotels looked very average....! Going to price up booking our own flights etc but they don't seem to be out yet.

we booked with Hayes&Jarvis and we're staying at The Samaya, Ubud and then Quinci Villas,Lombok. We weighed up the prices with different providers but they were the best hotels in that price range.
