Honeymoon in Hawaii?

BlurpImpala, 2 March, 2009 at 13:19 Posted on Planning 0 7

Finally got H2B to reveal where he was planning for us to go (delegated honeymoon to him and then suddenly it became a secret - I think so I couldn't hassle him about organisation ? ) - Hawaii with stop-over in US.

Has anyone been there or is planning to go there? or have any tips on good places to go or good stopovers in the US on the way (not San Francisco 'cos we've already been there).

Oh I'm sooooo jealous! For our honeymoon we did

    Miami
    Florida Keys
    Oahu, Hawaii
    Big Island, Hawaii
    New York

Without a doubt the two islands in Hawaii were our fave places and I kind of wish we either spent longer in Hawaii or did another of the islands (we did 5 nights on each). You will have an AMAZING time!

I have to pop out now and won't be on for the rest of the day but drop me a line (****@***********.**.**) if you want to know what we did etc when we were there, see any pics etc.

I'll be interested in replies to this too. We're looking at Vegas for 3 nights followed by 10-14 nights in Hawaii. H2b is also in charge of sorting ours out, and although he really really wants to do Vegas, he's not quite as keen on Hawaii now he's looked in to it a bit more, so we are currently looking where else we would go to after that is beachy but not boring.

The $ is making it very expensive though!

Also interested in replies on this! We keep jumping all over the place as to where we want to go (we have ages to decide) but do keep coming back to Hawaii with a stopover in Vegas or SF or possibly both.

Also considered Samoa or Fiji to get that South Pacific vibe as worried Hawaii will be too built up? Want somewhere with stuff to do but fancy that 'Robinson Crusoe' feeling for a just a few days.

I did this, we did San Fran on the way for 3 days and Santa Monica on the way back for 5 days. Loved all 3 places. We stayed on Oahu in Hawaii and we would certainly go back!

    Hello!

I looked into going to Hawaii but when I saw some pictures, I decided that it wasn't exactly how I imagined it would look - cannot articulate it anymore than that.

We decided instead to go to Tahiti (South Pacific) and we are having a two day stop over in LA, specifically Santa Monica, on the way there.

Thanks for the replies - Vegas or LA sounds like a plan!

We did new york, hawaii, las vegas and san francisco in november for our honeymoon.

we stayed on oahu in the hilton hawaiian village. it was excellent. we really loved it however hawaii is much more expensive than we had bargained for!

amazing place though. we hated vegas as the rest of the places we went to out shone it by miles. its not so much that we hated it but 4 nights there was 2 too many!

Hawaii was 10 days and we got helicopter to big island, it was all beautiful. going back next year i hope. x

I went travelling and spent a week on Oahu in Hawaii. Couldnt wait to leave! It rained the whole week we were there, and to top things off I had my clothing stolen from the beach whilst I was surfing (and it was luckily only clothing, no valuables).

Now, I have nothing against Americans, but it was full of them and on every corner, there was an American store of some kind.

It certainly wasnt the tropical island I hoped it to be.
