I haven't stayed in either, but have walked around both and they are fabulous. You get a lot more for your money in Vegas, we stayed in Circus Circus, which is one of the more 'budget' hotels, and it was perfectly acceptable. You really can't go wrong with either.

Have you looked at the reviews on trip advisor?

The MGM Grand is a lovely hotel-really nice in there although we didn't see the actual bedrooms. We stayed at the Luxor and were really impressed with it. Lovely clean rooms and the pool are was lovely as well. I love Vegas-just watching the hangover as well which makes me want to go back!!x

Personally I would stay in the MGM Grand.....my mates just come back from vegas and she was very happy with the rooms.

I'm going next Sunday (staying in Flamingo this time round, stayed in Caesars last time I went!) I could go and check it out for you and see if I can get in a room for you he he! x

Given the choice of the two I would prefer to stay in the MGM grand. But my faves are the Bellagio and Luxor!

    Love Vegas!!!

Personally I would say 2 weeks is to long. We went to LA for a week then onto Vegas for the second week and it was fab. It can be quite expensive depending on what you do. Its free to walk around the basic hotels but you pay for the extra bits for example seeing the dolphines at the mirage and going up the stratosphere.

I would love to go back!x

We looked at the reviews after we had booked and panicked but I can honestly say the hotel rooms were fantastic. We were in the pyramid part and the shape of the room was great-nice bathroom and tv etc. Couldnt hear any noise from downstairs. the cleaners came daily/gym was good. We had absolutely no complaints and my parents went in april and they loved it there too. Although saying that I didnt come home and write a review so remember that most people that write reviews are negative rarely get positive ones! xx

I would say two weeks is a long time if you plan to just stay within the strip (unless you are really hardcore gamblers!!)

But if you plan to explore a bit then there's plenty of stuff to fill 2 weeks with. The grand canyon is not far (we drove there). There are a few outlet shopping centres on the outskirts of vegas. There is also the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area if you want to see the 'real desert'. Its also not too far from Hoover dam and some national parks.

As for the food - in the casinos on the strip we found it was mainly all you can eat buffets. If you go to casinos and restaurant "off the strip" just a few mins drive away the food (and gambling) is much cheaper.

    HTH!

Thanks girls for all the advice!! I just found a brill one for the Luxor which is a fab price for 2weeks and includes car hire and free parking so the 2weeks may not be that long if we have our own car to explore the out lying areas?? Do u think? Just have to try and convince the OH that he could drive in the states cause there is no way i could lol!!!!!! See if my boss could see the amount of time I spend researching my wedding on company time dont think she would be to impressed lol!! ?

I've been to vegas millions and love both hotels. If staying at the mgm don't book the funky room in the west wing as they're quite small and only have a shower, gorg but I'd recommend the deluxe rooms more.

Planet Hollywood is fab, great shopping

    really they're both good

Forgot to say, 2 weeks is never too long in vegas unless you're the kinda person who doesn't do much. There's loads to do, go see some shows, go horse riding in the desert, take a drive over to lake mead and into montelago village, it's gorg and only a short drive away. At the weekend as vegas gets so busy I usually drive down to hollywood which takes about 4hrs, go to universal then drive down to oceanside, then next day to san diego to seaworld then back to vegas on the monday morning.

I always stay in the Riviera..... but thats only because I get a discount as I'm attending the conference there. To be honest....all the hotels have the wow factor. The riviera and circus circus have a lesser wow, but to be honest our room was fab, and our friends room in Circus was even fabber. For a honey moon I wouldn't choose either of those. I did have a nosey round all the others....and to be honest you are spoilt for choice because they really are out of this world.

We stayed at Caesars which was amazing, rooms were huge and clean. But to be honest, we weren't really in the room all that much, there's so much to do that it's really just somewhere to sleep. But out of the two, I'd say the MGM Grand, not seen the rooms but I just preferred the public areas of the Hotel

I stayed in the MGM grand signature which is attached to the MGM but it's 3 tower blocks and inside these you get apartments. It was absoloutely brilliant. The bath and 2 showrs could have each fitted a football team in!

We had a great view of NYNY and the MGM itself from the bedroom.

    I loved it there!

Just wanted to say, don't worry about driving in the states, after a short getting used to it (most of the cars are automatic over there but you will still try and use the clutch which isnt there for the first few times) it is much easier than driving over here - generally a lot less traffic.

The strip is the only exception to this and can take a long time to drive down!

As for Vegas, we loved it but for us 3 days was enough!

Seems like all your questions have been answered!

We are just back from 2 weeks in Vegas, and it's definitely not too long! I'd go back today if I could! The MGM signature apartments are amazing! We stayed in Circus Circus, and wile not as stunning as some of the others, it was ideal for us! There is SO much to do - you'll not be stuck for ideas!

Have a fab time - I'm so jealous!

    Hi

All your questions have been answered so i thought i would just post some piccies of MGM Rooms. As someone said dont go for the rooms in the west wing as they are small, never stayed in one but seen one, go for the Deluxe rooms, same price much biggger. This November will be my 6th time to Vegas so if you have any more questions let me know.

I have also stayed at Circus Circus which is does not have the same WOW factor as MGM but is more than adequate. Rooms are big and clean.

These are pics of the delux rooms in MGM - The beds are some of the most comfortable i have ever stayed in.

    Hi,

2 weeks is NOT too long in Vegas! There is so much to see and do, in and around the area. Plus, depending on when you go, you can laze round the pool during the day, leaving you loads of energy for the evening!

I've stayed in both the Luxor & the Monte Carlo, and would happily stay in both again, but for 2 weeks, would recommend the Monte Carlo, as there's no theme, which can get a bit much day in day out. Also, its on a Monorail to the Bellagio, so it's really easy to get around.

Hope you have great time xxx

    Hi

Weve been to Vegas twice and stayed in three different hotels there. In order of preference, I would go for:-

Top - Caesars Palace but stay in the new Augustus Tower as these rooms have fab view of Bellagio Fountains - rooms really luxurious and spacious/

Second - THE hotel at Mandalay Bay - really plush suite style rooms with separate living area and flat screen TVs. Its a boutique style hotel situated at bottom of strip near Luxor

Third - Planet Hollywood - again, rooms really spacious with movie themed decor in each - ours had suits from The Blues Brothers movie mounted in a case on the wall and really well situated as right in middle of The Strip opposite Bellagio.

Wherever you stay, when checking in ask if you can have a room upgrade - sometimes these can be obtained free or for a nominal fee and get you a really good room with views of The Strip.

Hope you get sorted - you will just love it Im sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you need anymore info, feel free to drop me an email. I've stayed in mandalay bay, treasure island, mgm, venetian, bellagio, NYNY, PH, imperial palace, sahara, palms, platinum and aria - can you tell I go a lot lol and most of these i've stayed in more than once.

Vegas is an amazing place and as I said before there is loads of stuff to do. I've seen loads of the shows also so if you wanna ask anything about them, ask away.

Terry Fator is good, Copperfield I'm not a fan, he's stuck in the 80's. His show is boring and just plain pants. waste of money in my opinion, a lot of the illusions you can actually see what's going on and I would never recommend it to anyone. My major show I recommend is "O" at the bellagio, simply wow, also mystere is good at TI as is le reve at wynn. I love crazy horse paris in MGM, if you like hypnosis Anthony Cools and hypnosis unleashed with terry stokes is great. If hans klok is there when you go, his illusion show is good. I'd recommend also the dinner show at the sopranos last supper. Tony & Tinas wedding is also good fun.

Another tip is if you find yourself not booking tickets until you get there, check at tix4tonite, there's a few of them dotted over the trip, you'll get last minute tickets for most shows (not the cirque shows normally) at half price or a % discount.

You can go horseriding in the desert with breakfast, lunch or dinner option. You'll get tickets for this at tix4tonite also, the dinners etc are BBQ from the wranglers.

    tix4tonite also do dinner discounts.

anything else you wanna ask, ask away
