Honeymoon in South Africa and Mauritius in December - have you been? Who did you book with?

Hello everyone!

So we have finally decided where we want to go for honeymoon... We get married in November but need to wait for honeymoon until December. We want to go for two weeks to south Africa and Mauritius. The problem (as far as the budget goes anyway!) is that we need to go over Christimas due to OHs work commitments. Hmmm... Expensive honeymoon on top of very expensive time to go! I've asked for a quote from trail finders but does anyone have any ideas on which agents to book through? Or any tips for the honeymoon if you have already been?

We're thinking of starting in south Africa, incorporating safari at some point and having a week in Mauritius afterwards

    Have a look at booking hotels yourself - there's probably a lot more choice. I was in Cape Town in December a couple of years ago and loved it. Can't remember the name of the place I stayed it was part backpackers/part guesthouse but just what I needed before/after my overland trip. We're also thinking of Cape Town over xmas but we'll see how the finances are.

    Thanks so much for the link to responsible travel website. I have emailed them to request a quote, it looked good, however I still think... Unfortunately, this itinery will remain out of our budget. We got quoted £8000 by trailfinders for 14 nights going over Christmas so can't see us beng able to shave enough off that Smiley sad

    We are back to the drawing board for now!!

    Luciloulabelle... As per alive, we're not sure about SA now... Or at least not combined with Mauritius. Think the internal flights at Christmas time are pushing the costs through the roof. We might consider south Africa though... A friend of mine stayed in and around cape town without even going on safari the first time she went and the pics are AMAZING! Such a gorgeous country.

    Unfortunately, me and OH want to go to so any laces, it is making any sort of decision impossible ha ha x
