Honeymoon in Thailand booked!

MrsMRtobe, 9 January, 2011 at 21:34 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 12

I am sooo excited! We booked our honeymoon yesterday and go to Thailand for three weeks from 11/11/11. I can't wait. We're going to Bangkok for 2 days then going on a adventure trek thing to Chiang Mai for 8 days then back to Bangkok where we're flying to Krabi. We've got two nights there and then six nights for a bit of island hopping (Ko Phi Phi and Koh Lanta) then we've got 2 nights in Phuket before flying back to Bangkok. I'd love to hear from anyone who has already been or who is going to Thailand for their honeymoon, I've never been before but it looks stunning!

We're Thailand too, in July this year. 7 nights in Samui then 3 nights in Bangkok. Have you had any recommendations about 'must see/do' things?

Sounds amazing, we're getting married in Phuket in one year and two days time woop! We're getting married in Phuket, then off to Bangkok, then up north to visit some family, then back to Bangkok, then out to Koh Samui for a week, then on to Singapore for a few days before flying back! Been to Phuket several times now but never been to Koh Samui so very exciting!

Vebec1986 do you know what kind of holiday you want?

Have Pattaya in your itenary, to begin with the attractions of Pattaya, a word about the beaches of Pattaya is worth mentioning. Tourists can create their own paradise at the beaches of Pattaya. The water has never seemed clearer before and the rays of the sun never so comforting. There are more nearly half a dozen different areas having a beach in Pattaya, all catering to a different kind of crowd with a variable set of activities happening at each one of these hot spots.

Hey all! My brother and a few mates went travelling around Thailand last summer for a month, just after the riots.

I know it wasn't a honeymoon but no harm in posting!

They had an amazing time, would love to go back.

Really recommend doing the elephant trek, and the River Kwai 2 day tour where you stay on a floating river house, and can also go to the tiger sanctuary thing. Though to be honest my brother said that was abit cruel!

He came back with some amazing souvenirs so leave plenty of suitcase space!

He did say though that Phuket and Koh Samui were quite busy, I suppose thats cos they are quite touristy and well known. But thats ok for a honeymoon!

Koh Phi Phi was a fave among them all if I remember rightly!!

Enjoy your honeymoons ladies! I'm sure you'll have an amazing time!!

Hey sorry to resurrect this old thread but MraMRtobe have you booked your adventure trek? If so who through? Your honeymoon is pretty much same as ours! we are doing Chaing Mai, then cambodia then to Ko Phi Phi then Koh Lanta and back up to bangkok.

we went last yeat and did phuket ko phi, phi and koh lanta and they were utterly amazing hence why we are going back to them as well as exploring some new places. have you biooked accomodation yet? we stayed in a lovely place in Lanta where the hospitality was just amazing. if you want more info about where we visited let me know ( I also have hundreds of pics lol)

Hi, we havent booked yet but are looking to go in january, we want to do a trek for about 3 days so will have a look at gap adventures

Phuket is lovely we stayed in a part called Kata beach which was lovely and stayed here https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g1210687-d618541-Reviews-Boomerang_Village_Resort-Kata_Beach_Karon_Phuket.html which i would really recommend, however, we are not going back to phuket because although it was lovely the islands are just better! If you are around kata beach the restaurant called Kampong Kata Hill is great. One thing I would say is dont do the snorkling/ island trips from Phuket, we found they were really expensive so didnt bother and when we went to phi phi and lanta the same trips were around half the price!

Koh Lanta is stunning, it is less buzzy than other places but there are some fantastic trips from it to see other islands and do snorkling and the place itself is lovely, if you want to spend your evenings sitting in a beach bar which is on the actual beach drinking cocktails, watching the most amazing sunsets and chatting to the most friendly people than you will love it. We stayed at and will be going back to https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g303905-d1368020-Reviews-Banana_Garden_Home-Ko_Lanta_Krabi_Province.html and Annie is every bit as lovely as the reviews say, the accomodation is not luxurious but it is very well looked after and clean, it is nicely done and has everything you need and is by no means basic, and for about £20 per night they also bring you coffee and toast as soon as they see you are up as well as fruit in the afternoon (they come and find you on the beach but if you are not around they leave it in your fridge)! There are some great snorkling trips around the islands from there too.

Ko Phi Phi is also stunning and has the most amazing views. it is a really different vibe from lanta, a lot more buzzy and loads of backpackers of all nationalities but again really friendly. One thingf we found with ko phi phi was accomodation was nore expensive and not as good as other places. The nicest part to stay is long beach, it is really quiet and pretty we stayed at https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g303908-d1312449-Reviews-Paradise_Pearl_Bungalows-Ko_Phi_Phi_Don_Krabi_Province.html and it was nice its pretty quiet on long beach and the resorts restaurant is good so you can have a quiet night there or the main town is really buzzy and loud with bars and restaurants etc so you can walk there from long beach (although i wouldnt recommend it as it is through jungly styff with snakes etc) or get a boat there for next to nothing as there are no roads on the island. If you are onj phi phi and can go a night without your home compforts I would def recommend http://www.mayabaycamping.com/ it is truely beautiful and if you go you have to swim in the sea at midnight!

I hope this helps, I have loads of pics at home so will try and put some on of lanta and phi phi if you want

I'm going to Bangkok for 2 nites, then Koh Samui for 5 and Koh Phangan for another 5 then on to Dubai for 4 nights. I have been really worried about Thailand tho because of people's reactions (has the bombings and riots stopped? etc etc) when I tell them where I'm going. The Foreign Office website is also warns tourists about it. My fiance booked this all as a surprise and I don't like to say too much to him and seem ungrateful but I'm really quite concerned. Does anyone else feel this way? :-(

IOm not concerned at all, I think it has calmed down now but we were in bangkok when it was really bad last year and although we were a bit retricted where we could go it was fine, I found the protestors were either courteious (sp) or ignored tourists as it has nothing to do with them
