You can travel in either name as long as the tickets match your passport.

For me, I needed a new passport to travel as my old one was due to expire so I booked honeymoon in my married name and got the registrar to sign a form which you send off with passport application up to 3 months before.

Others on here don't need a new passport and don't want the expense of renewing it yet so have kept their passport in their maiden name for now.

Worth noting that if you do change the name on the tickets and apply for a passport in your married name, that your existing passport will be invalid immediately and your new one not valid until your wedding day. This means that you would not be able to leave the country in between applying for the new one and your wedding day (this may be a problem with hen do plans abroad!!!)

I'm sticking to my maiden name as I don't want to run the risk of not having a valid passport to go on my honeymoon!!!

It's not a ridiculous question at all!!

I travelled with my maiden name passport and had flights booked in maiden name. The important thing is that the name on your tickets matches your passport.

Iv booked the honeymoon in my own name, and travelling in my passport in that name. My passport was up for renewal on 10/7/10, 3 months before the wedding so I needed to renew it. I know a few people who have even gone on hols a few years later and travelled in their maiden name!! Smiley smile
