Honeymoon suggestions

In may anywhere in the Mediterranean should be warming up. We love La Gomera which is one of the smaller Canary Islands (better weather there than the Med too). You have to fly to Tenereife then get a ferry. Most of the big holiday companies go there we went with Thomson Holidays to a lovely hotel right on the cliff tops.

The other place my OH and I love is Albania, yes sounds awful doesn't it but is truly lovely. Tirana the capital is lovely for a short break and once there food and drink is extremely cheap. I am talking £2 for cocktails. We dined in one of the best restaurants in Tirana, three course meal with wine and cocktails before for under £25 per head and I am talking top class dining. Can recommend the Rogner Hotel which has a lovely outdoor pool, big clean rooms and they serve champagne with the huge buffet breakfast. The people in Tirana are so friendly and the night life and everything is fab, most places speak English and the menus are usually written in English too. Food and climate very similar to Greece. Its about 3 hours away on direct BA flights from Gatwick. Last time we went we booked hotel and flights with British Airways and got a really good deal. Trips from Tirana include a cable car ride up the mountains, a number of castles nearby and decent coastline if you want to go further afield.

my husband and I flew to Marseille in November and it was still quite warm so I think the temperature will be nice and pleasant in May. From there we rented a car and drove to Aix-en-Provence - one of the most romantic cities I have been to date. There are some beautiful boutique hotels in the Provence area with spa etc and honeymoon packages. Flights are less than two hours and also quite affordable. I think we only paid about £60 on easyjet and rented the car right at the airport in Marseille. In case you don't want to fly at all you could take the Eurostar to Paris (around 2hrs) and from Paris there is a fast train to Marseille on TGV (think around 3hrs if I'm not wrong).

I hate flying, too.

We've booked Cape Verde.... it's 5 hours flying. Classes as short haul. 5 star resorts. Endless beautiful beaches. CHEAP!

Am I missing something or being stupid.. how can you go to Cape verde in less than 4 hours? Where are you flying from? Place looks gorgeous, but flights I can only find stop at least once (from london).
