honeymoon worries

vikmast, 6 September, 2011 at 23:04 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hello everyon, well the big day is nearly here and i am so excited xx however i am worrying so much about our honeymoon. we are goin to turkey and ive read that people have said its fine there, however have just checked th fco website and there is very high risks of terrorist attacks in any part of turkey, yet we havnt heard anything from out travel agents first choice. is this just a precautionary measure or is it really unsafe to go?? surely first choice would have told us not to go if it was too dangerous. if anyone has any info or has just got back please let me know

My bosses daughter and grandson have just got back and he said they had a fabulous time. I am sure they wouldn't let you go if it was risky

My b2b's brother, partner and her parents just came back from 2 weeks in Turkey and had a wonderful time.

There are risks of terrorism anywhere in the world at any time. Certainly you have every right to be cautious but as you say your holiday company would have contacted you if it was unsafe to go.

As with many foreign countries, if you're within the touristy areas and going on organised trips, you will be ok. It's when people do their own thing and wander all over the place unaccompanied that you can stray into areas that are not quite as safe, but then again you're just as likely to come across places like that - and occasionally worse - in the UK inner cities.

Spain, France and Australia are listed on the FCO site as under 'a general threat of terrorism at any time' - so

You'll be fine, and have a great honeymoon.

A honeymoon is supposed to be the time of your life, after marriage, when love is sweeter the sound. This is almost never the case. Many of my friends returned from their honeymoon to complain about bad service, dirty hotels and arguments. So when I got married earlier this year, I was not optimistic.
