Hoop or no hoop?

ImagineIt, 14 November, 2012 at 14:04 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hi all hoop experts!

While i'm still waiitng for my dress to be delivered, (29 days I think, fingers crossed for sooner) I wondered whether it has a hoop in the pic on the website.

My computer is being a nightmare, so I can't flash, but it's Ella 5689

The dress I tried on originally was too big, so I can't remember if it flared out like it does in the pic, or whether it won't hang like that without a hoop. Or is that the natural 'hang' of the dress so to speak. ? I was on a stool for the one I tried on so it had no flare at all. Hope this thread makes sense, I do tend to waffle....

Thanks all

J

xx

Thank you. ?I didn't realise you could get a fish tail petticoat hoop. That's a great idea!

I do remember tha material being quite layered & netted actually, so hopefully it will have a natural 'stick out' already. I will wait and see what it looks like when its in my size with the shorter hem line.

Can't wait til she's mine!!!! I haven't seen any real brides in her anywhere online, so will be interesting. I don't think i'll look like the model though unless I remove a few ribs! xxx

Do be aware that with a hoop, and dependent on your mode of transport, when getting out of some cars, the front of the hoop can literally rear up and flash more than you would like.....

Oh good point about flashing all! A hoop really does make a difference when moving around. I didn't want one cos I didn't want a huge skirt, but got a small hoop and it adds shape aswell.

I had hoop nightmare on our day, mine was a fully adjustable hoop and for some reason it decided to kink up at the back in a half figure of eight, so my dress was not held fully out as I wanted it. I think we had put the wire in the wrong way from the way it was stored and so it kinked as soon as gthe weight of my dress was put on it. Didn't have the time to sort it out so had to go with it like it.

I had an Aline dress so it made a huge difference but I think now I should have gone for a extra petticoat instead. If anyone has a hoop just give yourself extra time to get ready - so you don't end up like I was! I can even tell in my photos and it annoys me and my CBM to this day!

I have a hoop with the metal rods taken out. Made it really easy to walk but now stick out too much.
