Yeah i looked on there but cant find any that can deliver in time. Its not for my wedding i plan to get mine a little earlier. My mum is going on a school trip and has to dress up as a tudor (wtf?), she's making the dress this weekend but needs a hoop, think we may have to go to a bridal shop and hire. How much do they charge?

Tell her to turn the lining of the skirt up a inch. leaving a kind of channel that she can push this through

this will work as a hoop as long as the skirt isnt made of heavy material.
does that make sense, its hard to explain
(nylon boning is available from any good habadashery shop

This page explains what i said a bit better. metal hooping would be ideal. but not many places sell it. so that why i suggested the nylon boning as an alternative

she would only need to sew a hoop into the bottom of the hem. not have loads of layers of hooping as shown on the website

I know she has some normal boning for the bodice of the dress any way so its worth a try.

    Hi Lou-Smudge

Long shot but where are you based? I have a studio on the Dorset/Somerset border and have some hooped petticoats or just the metal hoops that she can thread through.
