Hoops and petticoats advice please!

Mrs-S-to-be, 26 August, 2014 at 09:53 Posted on Planning 0 3

My dress is in (I am so excited to try it on tonight) and I have a bit of a question with hoops and petticoats.

The shop doesn't sell hoops, only petticoats, but having tried on other dresses with hoops I far prefer them. I was wondering if they just line up - full petticoats being equivalent to 3 hoop hoops etc? I want to try on some petticoats this evening to see how big I want it and then buy from online.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Check with your shop if they sell Jupon petticoats.....most bridal shops do. They may only have unhooped petticoats in stock but can buy ones with hoops. They should have a brochure to show you.

i used to sell wedding gowns and 153 was a popular petticoat as it made the dress really full without the need for an actual hoop inserted.

I find that sometimes you can see a line on the dress where the hoop sits. I'd opt for a full petticoat instead, personally. Try both.
