    Hey

I saw some of the venues in Santorini to get married and they were beautiful!! However, there will be my 9 year old stepson and 18 month old niece going so we wanted something luxurious but kiddie friendly depending on the age of kids going is how easy they will be to entertain. I was struggling to find a hotel which had something for everyone on that island, plus I wanted all inclusive to keep costs down for us and everyone else. So we changed tack and are now going to go to Holiday Village Rhodes, and get married in St Pauls Bay its 5* glamour with a bit of something for everyone, plus its so big you can really get away from the other friends and family staying with you. Its a first choice only hotel, but they can arrange the wedding and everything too.

I know its not exactly where you were looking but I was struggling looking for something kiddie friendly enough in that location(lots of amazing places if it was just adults), plus don't forget that you have to have a 2 week holiday in Greece to get married there as you have to have 7 days residency.

Hope this helps in some way. Good luck xx

    Hi,

I had originally looked at an all inclusive in crete as i love it there, but we decided on Santorini as it looks perfect for what we want, there will be about 4 children all under 5 there so im hoping they will be okay as i guess at that age they wont be doing much anyway, (i have no clue about kids really as i have none, and all the ones who are coming are on my others halfs side!lol). Hopefully they will all enjoy it ?

Hope your goes well sounds lovely, I've been to Rhodes and it is gorgeous xx xx

    Hey

Thanks for you're comments I've never actually been to Rhodes, I'm just going on the pics I've seen and thought it looked fab. If they are all under 5's then you don't have to find somewhere as kiddie friendly they will just entertain each other, or stay with parents, a pool and perhaps a beach and thats all they will need lol. 'Cos of the age of my stepson I'm sure he will be wanting to go find new friends to play with and stuff which is why I thought that somewhere that was just activity packed would be best.

Its doing my head in waiting for the 2013 prices to come out, I've got a countdown timer on my phone lol. When I was looking at Santorini I really liked the look of the Majestic Hotel on the Thompson website. Very modern and chic.

Its a stunning Island, i loved it ? Theres loads to do there aswell, if any of your guests wanted excursions.

Yeah thats what i was thinking becuase they are young i might just get away with it!!... I have been looking at hotels, they have some stunning one's, some are so expensive and gorgeous, most people i have spoken to including my wedding planner have suggested i should stay in Kamari as there is a bech and there is a good selection of shops, resturants, tavernas and the like and a friend of mine said as its a small island its easy to go to the other parts on the bus, which is good.. I was worried about my guests in the beginning, i didnt know if it would be to expensive for them or there would be enough to do to keep them occupied, but i guess a week in the sun should be a positive for most people, and there are always things to on holidays even if the smallest of places.!! I am getting married at the Santa Irene chapel, dont know if you saw when you were looking through places. I love it though its a gorgeous venue!!... I cant wait though, do you know when the 2013 holidays are coming out, when ive been past the shop they have just said April. When is your wedding going to be?

    xxxx

Our original plan was to get married in Lindos as I've been going on holiday there for years, but we went to santorini and fell in love with the place.

Kamari is fab, there is something for everyone and the island is so small its dead easy to jump on a bus and hire a car and get around.

I got married at the same place as you - feel free to add me on facebook and look at my pics ?

Oooh I'm glad that there are things to do hopefully some romantic excursions for me and OH and family friendly ones.

When I send my ivites out I'm going to add an insert to tell people where we are staying but I'm aware that its pretty expensive so I'm going to hunt out some cheaper ones in the area as suggestions (Olympic holidays seem pretty good going on their 2012 prices). First Choice and Thompson prices come out on the 26 April, I would assume TCook are pretty similar. They did say you get the best deals the sooner you book. I've got the day off work to get it booked. I would contact the weddings team by email. I have been in contact with them and they have been great. I don't know if its the same everywhere but where I'm getting married the date and time is upto the registrar. The earliest wedding is 4pm and the latest about 7pm. I really want the 4pm slot, and apparently its the most requested everywhere so the quicker you're request gets to the resort the better lol.

We're going to go last week in May to be married first week in June. We need to match it round the school hols, cos I only want to take my stepson out for one week, but again something you've dodged needing to worry about.

I've jusy googled the chapel, it looks amazing on top of the cliff there. The photos will come out amazing, one of the websites said that sunset weddings go pretty quickly there and I can see why. Where are you thinking of having the reception? Are you getting a different wedding company or going through one of the tour operators? I'm just having the First Choice co-ordinator.

Yeah you should do, me and one of my bridesmaids have made my invitations, there based on Santorini, we have a cut out template of the chapel and made it sort of 3D and put it on the front and i had an information sheet on in the pocket inside to explain about the place and i had noted down some hotels of varying price ranges for people who may not be able to afford the same one as us,.. I will be straight up there end of the month then to book up ?

I have booked my wedding through Ionian weddings so i have a date of Thursday 30th May and i am having a susnet ceremony so my wedding planner has booked it for 4.30 so i still have good light after for photos!! Smiley smile ..

I am having my reception at Theros wave bar, we have have BBQ platter food and a disco, looks gorgeous, cant wait Smiley smile

what are you doing for your reception??? how many guests are you taking with you? do you have decorations for your reception you are planning to take with you or will you get them while you are there? xxx
