Hotels near Heathrow airport

Kebab thief, 20 July, 2008 at 14:04 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

I've never been to Heathrow airport before and as it's quite a journey from our place we've decided to stay there the night before we fly to reduce the stress. Can anyone recommend a hotel? We don't need anything too fancy but budget not really an issue, somewhere that does transfers to the airport and isn't too far away from it. I've tried lastminute and a couple of other sites but not knowing the area I'm getting confused.

TIA.

Which terminal you're flying from will influence you're choice.

Park Inn is my favourite - awesomely comfy beds ?

Thanks Scholt, it didn't even cross my mind about which terminal we're flying from, I don't actually know tbh! Will have to look into it and then restart my search for a hotel. Thanks again.

I will also say that the Park Inn is really nice! The beds are fab. I always get a good nights sleep in their beds, which is good for me as I dont normally sleep well in strange beds!

I have been staying in there on and off for the past 8 weeks as I am working close to there at the moment. Me and some of my work friends have stayed at some other hotels around Heathrow when the Park Inn has been fully booked and other hotels arent as nice.

The food is really nice, they have theme nights with a buffet, the only night that isnt all that nice is Thursday which is Arabic.

I am off there to stay there tonight until Friday, so if you need to know anything let me know.

Another vote for Park Inn beds although if you're having a drink in the bar put your shades on as it's a bit fluorescent!

Great beds and pillows too at the crowne plaza and the executive rooms arent' too pricey at the holiday in M4/J4 and they're pretty nice (standard rooms a bit bogging). Avoid the radisson edwardian and the ramada like the plague!

I should tell you to advoid the Novotel on M4/J4, horrible place. Had to wait for 2 hours for food every night, and staff where pretty rude! Our company wont use them again after we all complained about different issues.

Yet another Park Inn recommendation. We stayed in an executive room and it was gorgeous. It was after I'd flown for 24 hours so the comfortable bed was much appreciated.

The meals are ridiculously overpriced though.

Another vote for the Park Inn, particularly the executive rooms!

Thanks everyone, looks like Park Inn is the place to go then! I still need to find out which terminal we're flying from (Malaysian Airlines) but I'm guessing the terminals aren't too far apart - I could be being naive here though.

SFLV - thanks for the offer of photos but I'm happy to take your word that it's a nice place! ?
