My OH decided he wanted a stacked cake, then changed his mind saying he wanted a tiered cake, we went to see the cake lady a few weeks agoa dn he changed his mind at pretty much every picture that he saw! first we where having circle, then square, we where having the waterfall effect flowing down, then flowers then no flowers etc! We finally settled on a sort of stacked/tiered cake that has a 2inch gap between each layer so it is a bit of both!! With a flower on each one and hearts (the theme that he didnt realise we where having despite it being on our invites, sweet bowls, place settings!) piped on, looks beautiful!

I googled loads of wedding cake images and got lost with all the different styles and designs!! We decided we would like to have some birdcages incorporated into our day (how original). ? This gave me the idea of a birdcage style cake. I googled and found a design I fell in love with.

Do you have a theme or a design that will run throughout your day?

I originally wanted cupcakes but after a few really crappy quotes, I think I'll be going for a M&S jobby, I'm really not that bothered about it, as long as it tastes good!

We sat down with the lady who made our cake, looked at some magazines together and spotted the perfect cake.

Tweaked it a bit to add some sparkle, But it was just as simple as that really x

We knew we wanted a stacked up type cake, in sponge. Then w e just googled images of cakes with our colour, printed off all the ones we liked (lots) along with trawling wedding cake sites, and then just ended up ordering the one we liked most at the time the cake had to be ordered. We are so indecisive.

My auntie is making our cake - she's isn't the sort of lady you would mess with so we're just going to let her choose what she wants to make! She did my sister's and it was yuuuuuummm.

Yummy Cupcake is one of the things I miss the most about going to Lancaster Uni! I don't think OH is up for a 300 mile road trip to collect these for our wedding!

I didn't want a cake but we kind of needed one for the evening. I gave my cake lady the colour scheme and she came up with a lovely cupcake tower :-)

I scoured google images and blogs etc finding what I wanted. Emailed cake suppliers asking for quotes/

Realised I really didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds on a cake and had my mam make it. Job done.

    It was free!

We saw the cake as being the least important of our day. Its just there to be eaten! Still won 3rd best cake in the Hirched awards too *polishes badge*

As an OM I would give advice to people to really not fuss about ther cakes. Its a waste of money for a foodstuff IMO.

I saw one that I liked in one of my cake books, as cake decorating is my hobby. I decided to make sugar flowers instead fresh flowers as I wanted to keep them afterwards. It took a bit of time sourcing the cake stand for a reasonable price. I don't know how to flash properly so have a feeling this may come out huge!!!

Like others, I googled a a bunch ( I wanted an entirely edible cake) and chocolate. I found a few designs I liked and made a cake to test that my idea would work myself. I settled on a square cake with chocolate mint theme and it was amazing. I'm no traditionalist so no fruit cake tier; it was all chocolate (all three tiers!).
