How do I add icons to links in my favourites folder?

I used to have nice little icons for the links in my favourites folder, which I had added myself as an alternative to the generic icons that come up for some websites. I lost all my favourites and can't remember what I did to the links to give them icons.

Pernickerty, I know, but it looked pretty. Can anyone help?
