How do you cheer yourself up?

HatTrick, 4 April, 2012 at 18:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 40

I am feeling thoroughly ***.

I am home alone, H is at work til half 9 and I have already eaten two of these:

I have just scrimped some dosh together to order some form of takeaway but wasting money will just make me feel worse.

So what can I do? ☹️

I'd love to get totally trollied but I have to pick H up so that's a no-no.

I think I might get the takeaway. Chinese or pizza?

    I second the wine suggestion.

    And the chick flick.

I suggest Legally Blonde. How can that not cheer anyone up.

I usually treat myself to something pretty or a beauty/hair appointment. I think ordering a takeaway would make me feel more miserable. Take the dog for a walk; the fresh air will do you good!

That is a very good idea Trickers.

I took him earlier (before I became a blubbering mess) but a nice long walk always clears my head. ?

Aww HT thats awful! I'd have been gutted too!

I remember my mum was in a similar boat once, she got a new job though not made redundant, but they decided she had to go home that day and not come back so she had to clear her desk and she was really upset about it.

I would have been looking forward to saying my goodbyes etc, nobody wants to hear 'just don't come back' twunts indeed. definately better off at home though HT. You're too good for that treatment.

Thats sh!te HT. How rude. Have you had any luck on the job front? Did you get in touch with my pal in the end?

I'll join you in the fed up boat, I'm going for the long hot bath and a packet of galaxy minstrels (family size) as the cheering up tools. Wine would be better but I have no legs to get me to the offy.

Good! I hope you're feeling better Smiley smile

I tend to go for a run and clear my mind. Then I rearrange my thoughts, reminding myself that I'm a good person inside, even if other people don't always see it! If I'm going through some hard times, my mantra is 'this too will pass' - if I'm having a bad day I write it on a post-it and put it where I'll see it - I don't know why, but knowing things will change cheers me up, even if I can't see the way through.

    *hugs*

Aw HT I'm a bit late but your manager is a twunt, it's hardly suprising you feel like **** Don't force yourself to feel better, allow yourself to have a cry and let it out, comfort food, whatever it takes and then tomo morning, watch out world, HT's about!

Did you empty your drawers and things already - if not you've every right to flounce in tomo and get your stuff plus the odd stapler ?
