How do you spend your time on the internet?

Hunry, 18 December, 2011 at 08:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 28

Hi lovely Hitchers!

I always have a lot of time at work where I am doing nothing, so I end up surfing the web. There are only so many times you can check Hitched or FB, so how do you pass time on the internet?

For me there are always so many websites to look at, but I have nothing to do!

Facebook to chat to friends, eBay looking for old pieces of furniture and bargains, blogspot reading tons of fashion/makeup/random blogs, various high street stores looking at (and often buying) clothes and shoes, spotify and occasionally YouTube for music, photobucket for editing photos.

Hitched, Facebook, Ebay, Rightmove (love nosing at houses), local news, clothes and cosmetics sites, horse racing sites, rat forums.

Between here (and BT) and a few other forums, I'm usually mucking about on facebook, reading the news, researching online retailers for the best Christmas present offers (obviously this is only applicable to the last few weeks!) and doing bits of businessy stuff - networking, finding wholesalers, evaluating competitors, blah blah blah.

Darkivy - which rat foums are you on?

I'm on ebay and amazon a lot, looking for bargins. I sometimes go on a German Shepard dog forum for advice. Occasionally go on DW. Sometimes clothing/make-up sites.

Ratty Ramblings and Ratbags on Facebook mainly, and one for our local rattery where one of my bubs came from.

Oh ok. I'm not on FB so can't join Smiley sad.

I used to be on ratforum.com but left in the end because it was a bit cliquey/obsessive (few years ago so don't know if it still is!). There were loads of people on there attacking new users who dared to ask a question, or anyone who didn't have expert knowledge of rats and accusing them of being evil animal abusers, etc.

Hitched, sometimes FB (when I can be bothered), some IT blogs & sites (if I'm in work), ebay (I have a serious addiction to ebay).

I used to hang out on an ABBA fan forum, but I found the other ABBA fans a bit (ok, a lot) obsessive and petty - they'd spend hours arguing that "Agnetha was prettier than Frida" and slagging off the one who wasn't their favourite. I can't be doing with that crap, I just love their music.

I have the app, it's fab because you can search for houses in the current location wherever you are. I love it when a neighbours house is on there!

Mrs C, if you like Pinterest, there is also a new website called lover,ly. It's the same concept, but just for weddings. If weddings still float your boat Smiley smile

Most of my time is work related with quick bursts on Hitched in between working. I was a Rightmoveaholic when we had the house up for sale last year but after sufferring severe pain due to RSI being on there for so long, I've de-registered though since we never sold our house anyway Smiley sad I try to keep off the computer as much as possible now which definitely helps the neck and arm muscles!
