How long before the Wedding should i send invites out?

We're planning on sending ours about 4/5 months before bit thats because we're not bothering with save the dates, theu seem like wich an expense to then be sending out an invite later! (thats just a personal view and trying to keep the budget quite low!) but ive seen a lot of people send them at about 3 months.

We'll be sending ours out in the next couple of weeks which will be three months before the wedding. We've asked for mid December RSVPs (2 month prior to wedding) as Christmas sort of gets in the way and we should then have a good view of final numbers come the start of 2013

I think traditionally it's 6 weeks but we have people travelling from all over and with the Christmas holidays there's a two week period where nothing will get done anyway

Tradition is 12 weeks before, but it depends on circumstances. If people need to travel, book hotels etc it's good to send them out sooner, especially at peak times. Also, as she's sent save the dates in a previous calendar year it depends how reliable guests will be at transferring the date into the 2013 calendar!

I did mine more than 4 months before but that's because the minimum and maximum numbers at our venue are only 4 guests apart so we needed early RSVPs in case we didn't get the numbers.

Personally, I would send them no later than the beginning of March.

I would suggestg that you make a list of guests to be invited to the wedding and to the afters if this applies.. Record names, addresses and other contact details for follow up. Be ready to issue invites at least 10 weeks b4
