How long can meat be frozen for?

deedee, 24 November, 2008 at 11:55 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

Hi

I am trying to use up everything in my freezer at the moment to make room for batch cooking. My husband has been doing the cooking the last few weeks and has been buying processed frozen food and doing all the cooking as I have been unwell. I want to cook us a proper meal tonight as on first week of maternity leave. I have checken fillets in the freezer as well as bacon, pork chops and steak. I know the chicken is dated july and the rest of it probably about 4/5 months.

Is this still ok to eat?

Thanks

I would eat it without a problem. Check for freezer burn and make sure it smells right once its defrosted.
