How long were you engaged?

We were engaged for 1 year and 5 days - and I could have easily had a shorter engagement.

We got engaged in Feb 05 and married in August 06. We didn't set a date; that was decided in Jan 06 when H's work asked for his summer holiday dates and I said why not get married then??

We got engaged in October 2004 (my birthday), and married in Jan 2006, so about 15 months.

We didn't want to wait to get married so set a date quite quickly, and I'm sure I could have planned the wedding much more quickly if we'd had to. In fact we kind of did - we were supposed to get married in December 2005 (in the White Mountains in USA), but I was admitted into hospital the week we were due to fly out and wasn't allowed to travel so we had to cancel the whole thing. We sorted the wedding in about 3 weeks in the end! Although obviously I had the dress, etc sorted so it wasn't like starting from scratch.

Completely agree. We were engaged for 6.5 months.

Me too. We might have been engaged for 2 years but we only booked the venue a year in advance (and to be honest didn't really think about it much before that) and only really started the planning, buying dress, booking photographer etc about 6 months before. I think we only booked the florist about a month before ?

Got engaged in July 2005 and married September 2007. I'd imagined we'd need to book the venue about 12 months in advance, but when we found one we wanted they had an over two year waiting list - hence the delay! I probably spent the last 6 months planning, certainly not two years, I'm another that found the whole thing fairly dull, certainly not stressful. The main bit I enjoyed was trying all the dresses on

We got engaged August 06 and married May 08.

I was in the middle of my last year of studying and I said that we weren't allowed to plan or set a date until I had passed my final exams so we only really started talking about it early 2007. I got rather bored of planning it after a while and could have gone a shorter engagement but we needed time to save for a bit.

We got engaged the very last seconds of 2004 and married June 2006, so 18 months. My sister got engaged 10 months after me and got married 4 months after me. It was a busy year for us all (and my dads wallet ?)

We paid for the whole wedding ourselves but were really lucky (!) as I'd been made redundant with a very generous package in 2001 and got another job within a few months, so that paid for it. Otherwise, we'd probably 6 years and 2 kids down the line, still be waiting ?

We were engaged for 3 years, but we only set a date a year before we got married. we paid for it ourselves, he was doing a PhD and i worked in a call centre so it took a b it of saving to get to the stage where we could pay for it

Eleven years. We did have three children in the interim though and saved hard for the wedding we wanted.

13 months, would have been less but SIL insisted on a 6m gap between our wedding and hers.

Started dating 6th December 2003 (weirdly the same dtae my Mum&Dad had their first date.....in 1968!) , got engaged 23rd December 2004, got married 28th July 2007. Over 2.5yrs.

Originally, we'd planned to get married in August 2005, but our son was born(and died) in June 2005 so we postponed until July 2006; I then fell pregnant again and our second child was due in May 2006, I wanted time to lose the baby weight, so we postponed again until 2007. I think our postponements lasted longer than the amount of time we were together before getting engaged ?

We got engaged in March 2003 and didnt get married until August 2007 but I didnt start planning until the beginning of 2006. We were looking for a house and moved in 2004 so that was a big money thing I guess.
