How many on your top table?

Chez2k, 23 September, 2009 at 10:12 Posted on Planning 0 19

Just wondering how many you are having on your top table? And who?

I'm not sure whether to have any of the bridesmaids on the table (away from their partners who may end up with people they don't know?).

Thanks

xx

We arent having bridesmaids or ushers on the top table, they will probably be on the 1st table together, none of them have partners at the moment, but if they have a serious one at the time then we will invite them and sit them on the same table as them. Top table will be Me, OH, my mum and dad, OH's mum and dad, my grandpa, and the best man and maid honour.

Is it bad not to have the CBM on the top table?

No it's not bad at all, lots of people keep it to just immediate family.

    Hi

havent really thought about this to much yet but off the top of my head I think the top table will be me, dad and stepmum, H2B and his parents maybe MOH and best man but mayb not as seems a shame to stop them siting with partners and they can just move to a suitable space when it is time for speeches.

Well we aren't entirely sure yet.

As it stands it will be h2b's parents, my mum and stepdad, CBM and Best Man and our 2 children. So 10 of us Smiley smile

There will be 6 of us on the top table:

    Me

    OH

    My mum

My brother (he's giving me away)

    OH's dad

    Best man

I'm not having bridesmaids so made it a little easier!

We've decided to have a very small top table - just 4 of us. It'll just be me and my other half, the best man (my OH's son) and 'chief' bridesmaid (OH's daughter). Both my parents are remarried and his dad is remarried so it would have meant trying to accomodate step parents too. This seemed the simplest way. To avoid any arguments we're going to name tables rather than number and have two situated close to the top table with parents and step parents etc.

Its like a military operation trying to keep everyone happy LOL

There was 10 on our top table, me and hubby, both sets of parents, best man and his fiance (who was CBM) my brother (usher & toastmaster) and my sister in law who was maid of honour.

You can have who you want on there!

Im having a loooong top table 10 of us

CB & Partner, Dad & Mum, OH Dad & Mum, BM & Partner, Me & OH

my reasoning is that ive been to other weddings and the BM & CB keep getting up and seeing their partners on the other tables etc and i just through it would be nice to include them on out table, our other bridesmaids ae 10 so they will be having a kids table with 8 others .......

I dont think it really matters who you have so long as you are happy....

    K xx

Think we will be having 9 - me, OH, my parents, OHs parents, my 2 bridesmaids and the best man. The BMs & Best Man's partners will be seated at other tables

Its totally up to you though - no rules where this is concerned

We are just having me, h2b, my mum & dad & h2b's mum & dad.

We were originally going to have the best men & bm's on too but there are 2 best men & 3 bm's & I didn't want it too look odd so we decided no best men or bm's on the top table.

I am going for; me, OH, 3xBMs, my parents, his Mum, and Best Lady, so 9 of us in total. The ushers are both near us but on a different table, and I have also separated my BMs from their OHs - i fugure they can live without each other for a couple of hours!

    thats a really good idea!!
OH's parent's dislike eachother and one side at the moment are refusing to come.
The parent that is coming is happy not to be on the top table and since my dad is doing a speach and my parents have been very supportive in the wedding we having.
    best man
    bridesmaid
    my dad
    me oh
    my mum
    usher
    chief bridesmaid
or maybe the outer two swapped round? not sure yet

Thanks for the replies. Its good to see other people's ideas on things. I think I will ask the bridesmaids how they feel and take it from there Smiley smile

    42 in including us!

We had 3 head tables with 12 guests on each and we sat at a different table for each course, with our Best Man and CBM and their partners sitting at the tables we weren't. I'd definitely recommend it we got to spend time with and talk to so many more people that way.

We had H's mum's family on one table, his dad's on the other and my parents' family on the third. WE also had all ushers, BM's and thier partners on the top table too.
