How many people do you buy Christmas presents for?

Rusty the Clown, 24 August, 2010 at 11:58 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

Yep, I am going to talk about it!

I think I have 13 to buy for this year.

My Mum has something silly like 40 people to buy for. Nightmare!

    I think I've got about 12.

My mum always has a huge amount, but they've agreed with some of my aunts and uncles not to buy for some of my cousins anymore to reduce it down a bit.

Too many! I have 5 nieces and a step nephew, 3 siblings (though we now do a secret Santa between us) as well as many others.

Quick add up comes to 12 family, 2 friends and 1 god daughter.

I'm another Christmas lover though. You can't beat an evening with cheesy Xmas songs on the tv wrapping presents!

    This year, one. O.

Previously, it's been a big fat ZERO! I'm not a scrooge, honest, just that my parents never actually bothered with xmas (they don't with birthdays either), and H and I agreed with all his family years ago that we'd save money all round by not bothering exchanging tat gifts.

I'm really looking forward to O's first 'proper' xmas this year though.?

ETA - why is my strikethrough thing not working?? 'tat' should be crossed out!

Oh god, usually i'd be bouncing all over this thread with excitment as i am an early buyer and like to be well organised, this year however we have the twins due on xmas day! ? so hence my excitment is getting overshadowed by anxiety lol (having said that they'll be likely to be born early december phew)

this year because of the arrivals we'll only be buying vouchers for immediate family (mum dad sis mil) and then gifts for all the kids (friends and family children) so thats about 14-20 kids! which is why its usually best to buy now as all the good toy sales are on

About 25, my family is tiny adn used to love it but OH is huge so was a very rude awakening last year when had to buy for them all. Having said that i have already started, yes ridiculously early i know and what makes it worse is i hate seeing anythign Christmasy in the shops till December how much of a hypocrite am i? Am lucky as all my girlie friends have a tradition that instead of cuying each other presents we just meet up and have a drunken lunch (which always leads into the afternoon then the evening!)

    Too many!

I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. So that is 6 to start with. All of them except 1 has a partner. 2 of them have kids (3). My mum, my dad, my uncle, my mum and dad's respective partners, my half brother...Not to mention all the bits just for Mr P's humungous family too.

Maybe I should think about starting right now ?

18 for me but I ❤️ christmas, we make a big deal out of it here, it won't be the same this year though as 2 kids have moved out and have families of their own.

Between me and the oh we have about 12 people to buy for but we have already decided that we are not going to go mad with spending this year as i'm due in march. hopefully most presents coming our way will be baby related which will be great for us.

About 30 ish, it seems to go up every year! We have set a £10 limit which makes shopping very difficult. Parents have £40 each and then H, Deacon + new baby will obviously be more.

Although H & I prefer to buy things when we need them so don't go mad on each other at Christmas.

I buy (with joint money) and he wraps!

I've already started the shopping as baby is due 29 Nov
