How much are people paying for wedding post boxes?

Wherts2b, 9 November, 2011 at 12:23 Posted on Planning 0 31

The one to match my stationery is £35 ? feel reluctant to pay that for a cardboard box I'll never use again

Mine start at £14.00 for the cardboard ones.

I also have a Royal Mail Post Box and Wishing Well that I hire for £35 each.

If you need any help please do get in touch.

Thanks Nat. I LOVE the royal mail ones but the postage always works out too expensive - how much do you charge? I think if I have a cardboard one I would want it matching the rest of the stationery

We have a bought a wooden wishing well for £40 ( we collected it, i think they are £50 delivered) and then we can use it in the garden after the wedding. Its a lovely big one, roughly 80cm to a metre tall. We can paint it and decorate to match our colour scheme.

    Hi Wherts2b

Mine is from Ebay £7.50 + free postage, comes assembled ready and you can choose from lots of colours of ribbon.

I'm going to ask my stationary supplier to just make the sign to go on it with our names, date etc.

Hi Wherts2b - Where are you based?

I offer delivery within a 40 mile radius of GU46 (Hampshire).

Otherwise, get in touch if you want to chat more about the cardboard ones.

    Not a problem at all.

We hired the one from Inspire Me Designs for our wedding and it went down a storm. My wife's dad used to be a postman, and they have a working but identical box outside their house.

They say there's no promotion like a recommendation from a satisfied customer, so I'm happy to do so.

Mine was £15 and was lovely.

I've also used it again - it's now my keepsake box.

Including postage and packing, we paid £35 for ours - bought online from a carpenter based up north. The OH made the personalised label on the front. My best friend is borrowing it for her wedding in 2 weeks time. Originally, I wanted a suitcase but I love our post box.

He's based in the Midlands -

Ours was a reconditioned one (I couldn't spot any faults), hence it was slightly cheaper but he was fab and gave it a fresh lick of paint before he sent it out to us. I was like you, not wanting to pay over the odds for a cardboard box and I would highly recommend this guy for good service / comms - our postbox came with a lock and key too.

I had a wishing well/box in the shape of a little house, because thats what we are saving to buy. My brother made it out of ply/craft wood then painted it. Like a dolls house with a slot in the top & lock. Didnt cost much at all but looked great & unique.

I used good old bay of e, a total of £12 and I will just make it our own by decorating using the ribbon etc to match invites, so it will all co-ordinate but not cost me a fortune.
